MazdaSpeed Badges

i am going to try ebaying the MX-5 portion alone and if that works out well i might sell people here the mazdaspeed part alone ($25?) and keep the mx-5 badge

The Mazdaspeed badge on the MSM DOES look cheap. It's the same cheap ass looking chrome badge that they put on all other cars. The only badges that actually look good are no badges IMO. However, if you must have some, the satin badges on the MSP are the best. I don't think the MSP Mazdaspeed badge looks bad, but the rectangle shape isn't cool.

when you took the protege badge off it leaves two holes isn't it? and is the VW turbo badge just a stick on badge over the two holes? or it have the pins that goes into the holes? if it is just a stick on, will it rust over time?

car is painted with holes already in the trunk lid.
there is no exposed metal.
if u align the badge right, u will cover up the holes.

so, there won't be any chance of rusting in that two holes if I just stick the badge on?

I don't want ending up with rust on the truck lid if the water will goes in under the adhensive of the badge.

i cant tell u for sure, but from what i saw on my car it should be fine

You should be fine Phantom - the badge backing is very thin and strong - once it's on, it's on!

...shouldn't be a problem.

ok guys, I have the "turbo" badge stick on top of where the "protege" badge is. but now when I look at the two holes under the trunk, they are not completely covered by the turbo badge. I can still see a little bit of light coming in through the holes. now what should I do? I have already tried my best to align the badge to cover up the holes.

can I do something to cover up the two holes underneath? I am worried that water will go into the trunk and rust overtime.

I'd saw the "how-to" post about using the expony and sanding it down. but I've already had the badge stick on and I do not want to remove it (then I can't stick it back!), any suggestions of what I can do to stop water coming into the trunk?

Phantom... yea, all three of the ones we did came out the same as well. I just put some electrical tape back there to prevent moisture from coming in.

here are some pics, enjoy!!!

my badge is not the VW 'turbo' badge. I bought it from vancouver and it's make by some company who makes badges for hondas, toyotas etc. I guess this is just a generic 'turbo' badge. it is made out of plastic (just like the stock 'protege' badge) and it is chrome black. I like the look of it and it does match perfectly with the car and the Mazdaspeed badge.

the words of the badge is thinner then the VW 'turbo' badge, maybe that's why it can't cover the holes perfectly. you can't really see the uncovered portion of the holes from the front unless you raise the trunk and look from underneath then you'll see little light comes in.

so what should I use to cover up the holes underneath again? use glue or electric tape? what glue should I use since I want to be able to remove it later on WITHOUT hurting the paint, or should I just tape it on the back???

let me know what you guys think. ;)

are there pin holes under the stock Mazdaspeed badge? Does the stock Mazdaspeed badge have pins? How about the MSM metal Mazdaspeed bage? Thanks.

I am trying to get the miata mazdaspeed badge. So far no dealers have them in stock. They have two holes prungs on back...
