heya, Ive got a 2007 MS3. With the miles getting pretty high and reading about blown engines Ive been worried my girl is going to blow up. I have been thinking about it and I think I could totally fix her!

Swap a Honda B18 from my integra that was totaled, the engine is perfect and Im betting that I could use all of the turbo from the MS3! Turbo the B18 with all of the MS3 parts!

This would be a match made in heaven. The perfection of the Mazda Exterior and Interior matched with the perfection of a honda motor. (ricer) Ill be driving a Toyota camry that my dad is going to loan me while I plan out and do the work. That way I can still do my pizza deliveries.

So, any useful ideas anyone could give me? I know the motor mounts will need to be reconfigured for the frame but is there anything else that may be a problem?

Thanks, you rox!

(Pics to come!)

I don't even know where to begin.

That seems like a big job.

I can't even change my own oil, let along do an egine swap.

Good luck. I look forward to the pics.

Good luck with all the mounts, and wiring, etc, etc. Obviously the motor will fit with room to spare. but probably won't be fun.

Can't wait to see the pics, and show my honda friend if you ever do it though.

You should get a bigger turbo. Throw on a 6762 and rev that b**** to 9k.

Say goodbye to your torque, and you'd still be pretty heavy, but it'd be a fast minivan.

Blackbob, do you think I should rebuild the B18 with all forged parts and make it capable of both a bigger turbo and higher RPM? That would take longer but it could be done!

um....you did think about the transmission and how it will not fit with that engine right? you took that into account and have plans to make it work, right? i'm not the first one to think of this, right?

no, i wondered about the tranny also.

subbing for incoming flame.....(flame2)

Have you even looked at the mounting points of the engine/transmission?
Does it even line up?
I'm not even gonna say anything about the wiring harness....
nevermind

DO IT MAKE IT RWD WHILE YOUR AT IT!!

(rice)
Make sure you get a fart can

....there is a reason no one has put a honda engine in a mazda....

good idea...but to make it come true you have a lot of research to do. i smell pipe dream.

join date of today and this is your first post? i smell troll...

=( not a troll

I dont get to use the family PC that much and when I do its usually for other things.

After work tonight Im going to check ebay and maybe look at how big of a turbo I can fit on a B18. I should have clearance in the bay for it.

As for the tranny Ill use the Honda tranny and probably get custom axles fabricated. Might be expensive. Ill have to look into that and the cost of a bigger turbo. May have to stick with the MS3 turbo to save costs and upgrade to a bigger turbo later.

Wonder what I will have to do for ECU's as the stock B18 ECU controls will have to be reprogram it. I doubt any of the MS3 ECU electronics would be able to control the engine.

if you're not a troll you're one of the dumbest people i've seen post on here. and that's saying a lot.

i'll put it simply. it can probably technically be done. there is going to be a lot of custom work involved but eventually you could probably get it all worked out. since it doesn't sound like you're going to be doing any of this work on your own it will likely cost you as much as the MS3 is worth if not more. then if you do succeed what you end up with is a car that will likely perform worse than the stock MS3 and be a much bigger headache.
so can it be done? probably. is it in any way worth it? not even close

everything will be custom. you wont be able to utilze the stock ms3 gauge cluster. The stock cluster has a immoblizer that the engine requires to run. its going to be a wiring nightmare as well. youll need a custom crossmember, axles, engine mounts...etc.

What's with all of the "waaaaaah, I'm scared of blowing my motor with all this talk" lately? It's bunk.
