mazdapseed exhaust

I have a RB axleback from a MP3 and it sounds great! It is a noticeable difference over the stock note during acceleration, but not as loud as a full exhaust. If you feather the gas pedal you may not notice it at all. It adds a deep tone to your exhaust, not loud and obnoxious. And it is a 15 minute bolt on to your stock exhaust, can't beat that! Also, the tip looks just right for the car, not an oversized tip that you can fit a softball through..

I know it is the same as the 03 speed stock exhaust, not sure if it is called "sport" though (shrug)

If by Sport Exhaust you are referring to the Mazdaspeed Sport Muffler, then no. The Mazdaspeed Sport Muffler is a borla piece, not a racing beat piece. It is a straight through muffler with a really nice growl to it.

I have a question about your exhaust, is it a Mazdaspeed protege 03? I was thinking of getting one for my 01 protege. I have an aftermarket exhaust and Im tired of it, too loud. Do you recommend it, is it loud and it does work on a protege sedan?
yes, any Factory MSP exhaust off a MSP will fit any third generation sedan with no modifications and will sound way better over stock and not at loud as aftermarket MSP exhaust and others........

bolt right up if you have not touched anything up to the axle-back part of your factory exhaust!

EDIT: just make sure you don't get the aftermarket Mazda Speed Sport exhaust becasue that is loud..........you want on off the MSP sedan!

all i know is when i called my local dealer he said that he could order a mazdaspeed 03 sport exhaust. So there are 2 types...one racing beat and the other is borla?

Correct. If he can just easily order it up I think it's probably the Mazdaspeed Axleback (borla made).

That's part of the confusion when people talk about the Mazdaspeed exhaust, the stock MSP exhaust is different from the dealer-installed Mazdaspeed "sport" exhaust. The stock MSP exhaust will either say Racing Beat on it or have Mazdaspeed etched along the side or on top of the tip when looking down from the trunk.

02pro-es is from the same area as me and hes got an 02 es. its got the mazdaspeed axleback and vibrant intake, which makes the car sound really sweet with a nice exhaust note. its overall a pretty sweet protege plus its lowered on goldines, so nice stance. but yea another thing, if you get the 03 mazdaspeed axleback (like mine) its got mazdaspeed printed on the side of the tip and on the 03.5 its a diff tip plus its only printed on top i believe.
thanks man!!!!! the axel back does have a low tone under heavy acceleration but just at idol there is no difference between stock.

the borla one is loud........you want the racing beat but it is more $$$$ i think.
the best one to bye is from a member selling their FACTORY axle back exhaust off their Mazda Speed Protege........you can probably get one for $100-150 shipped off some member of this forum!

much appreciated!!

thanks guys for the help...i am going to call my dealer right now and make sure it is the racing beat exhaust.(cool)

^^^^

i bought my MazdaSpeed Sport exhaust from the dealer and it was the Borla one. It is probably not the Racing beat. Just giving you a pre-warning......it might be louder than you expect.

How much did you pay can I ask?

I am sure that it is off of the 03 mazdaspeed

The dealers probably don't get factory MSP exhausts for people.......check out the F/S section of this forum!

when i asked he couldnt tell which brand it was. So i decided to wait but they want $184 for it. Im still confused...which one is the factory exhaust, racing beat or borla? the dealer said that there wasnt another company that made a catback for the msp. I havent bought it yet. How loud is the borla...loud all together or just on the highway, do u have stick or auto?
