Hey guys
for the newbies and for those that just don't know, there are a fair number of race and stock parts available through mazda "if" you are a registered racer or if you are building a car for racing- 1/4 miles, autocross, rally, whatever. I just thought of this again and figured I would pass the info along- especially if you are going the custom cam route, you can pick up blanks for the fs or bp motors for around $82- BP owners can get a gtr manifold for $180- just a ton of stuff- some you can shop around and get a better price on, other stuff like the transmission gears, I haven't seen anywhere else

Yeah there catalog is awesome. I remember looking at it before they closed it to non registered owners. I want to join. I just need to get two race results... The catch is they cant be time slips. They have to include your car, name, time, etc... I am going to e-town this wednesday...maybe i can find out how to get that info ...once i get it i think that i would join. I would also make these parts available to others. They do have free support though.

i have a photocopied autoX result..i guess i need something else though..i haven't gotten a chance to really go through all their stuff, but i've heard really good things..probably kill 2 birds with one stone once i get my car back..go up to lebanon and get a few runs in..i don't think i'l be buying anything anyway..but it would be cool to see what they have..

well s*** if you cant be kicked for getting stuff, i dont know when the hell ill get around to getting some events in with the way my work schedule has been, need to price those blanks vs others, they sound interesting if they are the same quality as a blank crower cam or something.

i think it's funny how you have to provide them with 2 race results before they will help you....kinda defeats the the purpose of them helping you doesnt it??? hehehe but i understand why they do it - they'd get all the aftermarket business if they didnt

They almost had all the aftermarket business!!...i dont know why they fooked it up. Alot of the perf. parts sites get their specialty parts from them, like jdm intake cam, msp exhaust cam, etc.... their catalog was ok...when i saw it. I want another look
after etown i will either have the info to register or will be about to.

Actually you can sign up if you are building a race car as well- you just have to tell them your intent over the next year- I used my autox results that were posted over the past year. Oh, and the cams are billet blanks- have paeco grind them to your specs and you are out for less than $300 per cam.... Probably the route I'll go at the end of this racing season.

off topic, but chris is that an air intake in the headlight housing in the rx7 in your sig? nvr seen one there b4 =)

back on topic....300 per cam? meaning if you get the blanks through mazdasports at 87 or whatever they charge you 213 per cam to grind them? damn. I wonder how much crower charges for the whole deal. Something Im gonna need to research soon.

Well the blanks are 85'ish, and the regrind by paeco (http://www.paeco.com/cams.html) is 210.. So around $300 per cam... I am not sure about how much crower is getting- but as mentioned in prior threads, paeco has been around for a long time, and works very extensively with mazda's.. Crower is a great name though too, I just wonder what kind of reccomendations they would make for the grinds....

hmm. looking at the price for the crower cams for honda, paeco may be a way cheaper alternative- prices starting at $750 for a regrind??? Good lord!
