Thanks to the help of this forum, and Antoine in particular, TrueDelta has another set of reliability survey results for the Mazda6. These are for the year ending December 31, 2007.
For the 2004 Mazda6, we received an average of 3.2 months of data on 16 cars. This is an insufficient sample size, so the result is asterisked. The stat of 24 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.2 per vehicle) is much better than average for a 2004 model.
However, the repair rates for the 2005 and 2006 are higher, at 59 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year, about average. This suggests that the result for the 2004 is inaccurate. The sample size for the 2005 is also small, just 14 cars, while that for the 2006 is 25 cars.
The 2006 sample also includes the MS6. I'd like to provide separate results for the MS6, since there are many differences, but need larger sample sizes to do this.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, it literally wouldn't be possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, please consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of the asterisks for the 2004 and 2005 and also include the 2003, 2007, and 2008.
