I am so torn between those two cars the tiby is more expensive but it just looks nice and alot of power . The three seems to have all the right options. For you experts which is faster at the moment and which one could be made to go faster with the right mods u know like IHE and exaust and turbo
thanx!!!!!!

the TIB is a awesome looking car....awesome....its a little lacking in some areas tho. If you want to mod the hell out of your car get the 4 banger and not the 6. The 6 has a aluminium block that cant handle much FI. the 4 has alot more potential.

The 3 is more of a family car, while the tib is a little more youthfull...personally would choose the tib, but i drive a mazdaspeed.

V6 tibs can't handle more than 250hp put a turbo in a V6 tib and you will blow the block to bits. I would suggest getting a 4 cylinder it has more potential and the block is bullet proof, you can get 500hp+ out of those engines. My cousin has a hyundai elantra which is the same engine that a tib has so that's how I know.

Personally i think the 3 is faster than the tibby, just because i think that the 6 makes the car much heavier and maybe in the Long run the tibby would be faster, but off the line i think the 3 is faster. Raced my friends tibby cant remember if he said it was a v6 or not but i wasted him. But what ever you like better id say just go for that, dont go for the fastest car if you dont like the look/style of it.

I picked the 3 over the Tib and Matrix.

In the end, I just didn't have enough faith in a Korean car to get the Tib. The 3 has more interior space and is easier to get into/out of, as well.

The Matrix was completely underpowered unless you got the XRS and there's no way I'm getting a Premium-only car for a daily driver.

how much potential does the mazda 3 have as far as turbocharging maybe 250hp what would i be looking at as far as costs. maybe 5000+ also what reliablitiy isues would i run into and how would it differ on the tibby i mean i know there are more mod parts for tiburons simply cus they been out for far longer any thing would help thanks guys. oh and thank you i will look into the 4 cylinder tibby now i was a fool to go straight for the six and i guess now the cars are more comparable in price

Stock 2.3L Mazda3 vs V6 Tib is a drivers race. Equally matched in acceleration, but thats where the comparison ends. The Mazda3 is top of the class in quality/fit & finish. Tib is crap and very close to bottom of the pack in quality/fit & finish. Built in a third world country and has horrible resale. Not even a choice to make as far as I'm concerned.

I previously own a Tiburon V6, who ever said "Tiburon is a crap" have no idea what he is talking about. (gun) I don't think a 3rd world country can't build a good quality car. For the same idea, 1st world country (US) I don't think all the cars they built are even crapier than the majority cars in the world (pissed) just like I would never drive a sunfire, or a neon !!!!!

Although I'm planning to get a Mazda3 cuz my tiburon got stolen, but I still like my tiburon more than the Mazda3. I don't know what your preference is and what is your priority. To me I think the Tiburon is more powerful (not faster) maybe becuz of the high Torque not sure, and I think the look of the Tib is a lot more aggressive. Features; I think the tiburon got everything you need as a sport coupe. (I know it dosen't have a rain sensor nor a telescopic steering wheel, but does that make that much of a diff.?) I test drive the 3 for few times I think the ride is more comfortable and roomier. I change my mind on choosing the 3 is becuz I need a more practical car for my family, not becuz I think the Tiburon is bad.

I'm not sure how great the effect is for the "potential mod. of the cars" to you on desicion making, but I totally agree with what "Dave2521" said choose the one you like.... becuz if the speed factor rules over all other factors... why don't you just pick a SRT-4 ???

i love the tib, i might get one for my next car..i like the 3 also but the tib looks more sporty, the i4 had a whole lot better aftermarket products than the v6, the v6 only has like 170hp while other v6 and i4 coupes are making over 200, so if ur getting the tib, get the i4..if ur getting the 3, get the 2.3l, its ur decision

Tibby looks decent, but it's performance is nothing special. The 3 looks pretty good & I think once more stuff is available, you can make one look great. Besides, the 2.3L is a good engine to mod NA or you have the turbo kits coming out. I'd go with Mazda.

As amatter of fact I do know what I'm talking about and the quality/fit/finish on the Tiburon is about equivalent to the Neon/Sunfire. The engine is overated as well, performance is very medicore for a V6 in a little car like that. Not sure what its like in the U.S. but in Canada the resale value tells the story on the Tiburon. You can't get squat for a 3 year old Tiburon up here. Protege is number one for resale value and the Mazda3 will be even stronger. I can't believe anyone in there right mind would compare the technology and assembly quality in the Mazda3 to anything made by Hyundai......unreal.(uhm)

what do yall think like fast turbo MZ3 times will be i mean without totally wrecking the cars reliability and gas mileage completly. maybe high 13s that would be awesome but realistic what do you guys think?

In the US, resale of a Protege is s***. Just bought the p5 last year in Sept. Drove it off the lot and lost 3-4000 on the resale. It could be a different story for 3s but as far as the history of Proteges go, resale value dwindles quick. And im talkin more on demand, not bluebook value.

the tibby is okay IMO, price is on par with everyone else, not UBER fast nut pretty quick, lots of aftermarket support now, the mazda doesn't have as much but will grow slowly.. if i were you i would get the ma3 as it handles better,
