Mazda3 vs. Lancer

I've been looking at cars, I'm ready to buy but i want to test drive pretty much every car out there so today i test drove a 2005 Mazda3 5-door SP23 and a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart.

The Mazda3 5door was nice at first, i'd really enjoy'd it alot. It drives pretty good and it was fun taking it on the highway, It was a little stiff but i don't mind that at all i kinda like it that way. Over all it was nice. But it had kind of a soccer mom feel to it.

The Lancer Ralliart was wicked nice. I seriously had dout that this car was any good but it had nice power and nice sound. The feel was the same as the 3 but the sound system and the power was a little better. I know they say they both have 160 hp but i think the lancer gets more to the wheel.

I'm really disappointed though, I guess people hyped the 3 up too much for me. But I'm gonna test drive a few more cars but right now it looks like the Lancer. Thanks for listen'n to my bulls*** Rant.

Look at the Scion tC and the Chevy Cobalt while you're at it.

Both are good cars to test drive and despite the Cobalt only having the 2.2L Ecotec at 145 hp, it produces more than enough boost for the new Chevy especially the coupes and I think the interior inside the Cobalt is much nicer than in the 3, Ralliart, and tC. Not only that, road noise gets drowned in the Cobalt, so that's something to consider. Plus the LS Sports Package starts at 17k with an automatic plus 16 in. wheels, white guages, spoiler, and more. You can even throw in heated seats, the pioneer sound system, side air bags and still be under the price of the SP23 and Ralliart.

You could try the Sentra SE-R, but I'm not a fan of the Sentra atleast in design.

The Ralliart, 3, Cobalt, and tC are my top 4 in this class in terms of pricing, driveability and overall quality.

All 4 are good picks. Just pick the one that feels best for you and stick with it. Take care of the car and it will take care of you.

not to dog on anyone too hard but if you are looking to tune your mitsu into a evo lookalike you better off with the three, i had a buddie who had a lancer OZ edition, he did everything bust switch the engine and my 02 dodge dakota still waxed him

hahaha he said automatic. who would want an automatic?

Soccer mom feel??? NO WAY....CUracer, you listenting to this?.....Anyway, IMO the sedan has more of a "fragile" feel to me....not dissing...just drove both and thats what I feel....To me, as weird as this sounds, the 3-5door has more of a euro feel for some reason...

I have taken out about 3 lancers, they are nice cars, and the sound nice, but the 3's diffently quicker on the streets

if you are planning on staying stock then get whatever you like, but if you are planning on modding the car, you might want to take that into consideration when buying the vehicle. I would look into a mazdaspeed protege if you seem to like the mitsubishi but want a little more power, better looks, top of the line handling and a new found supply of aftermarket support. You can get anything you want for the MS and the car isnt too pricey.

nah I'm 18 Years old and i don't work in a cubicle. And i did go back to the dealer and test drove a Seden, it was much nicer than the hatch, but it still seemed a little slower than the Lancer. I also test drove the tC that was fully loaded it was very nice rude and comfy.

try the sedan for a non soccer mom feel

i really like ur 3, it looks really good. If i was to get a 3 i'd make it look like that but u beat me to it so now i gotta move towards something else, but very nice 3.

don't buy the lancer. its crap. my brothers lancer oz rally edition is falling apart on him and i think its an '02. if you don't like the mazda go with the scion tc.
