Thanks to the help of this forum, and Antoine in particular, TrueDelta has another set of reliability survey results for the Mazda3. For those who don't care for the details, I'll provide the short report:
Mazda3s don't break often
Now for the details.
The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending December 31, 2007.
The results cover every model year, even the 2008. No one else will have a result for the 2008 until June or even October. Thanks, guys, for helping TrueDelta provide the first info on the current year, by a wide margin.
Aside from being first, the result for the 2008 is rather boring: it's looking very similar to the 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007.
For four of the five years the results are between 24 successful repair trips per 100 cars per year and 36 per 100 vehicles per year. The 2007 checked in at 15 per 100, but this strikes me as a bit low given the numbers for the other years. Sample sizes range from 21 to 46 cars per year, with the two under 25 asterisked for insufficient sample size.
Put a bit plainer, at least two out of every three Mazda3s appear to go through a whole year with no repairs.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, it literally wouldn't be possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, please consider doing so. It would be nice to get rid of those asterisks.
