Mazda Protege Racing in Speedvision

Does anyone know the name of the race series that regularly features the Mazda Protege's?

I saw one the other day in Speedvision totally by accident. The race had a bunch of Mazda Protege's and even a P5 in a variety of colors and wheel combo's. Very nice looking race cars. They also had Acura's and BMW 3 series cars in it.

Looking at SpeedvisionTV's website, they have a "Star Mazda Series" race at 1:30 PST. I was wondering if that is the name. Or is it "Speedvision Challenge" or "Touring Car [something]"?

Anyone have a clue?

I really enjoyed seeing all those race-customized Mazda's running around at the track!

You have it. Speedvision Challenge and the Touring Cup Car...... that is what you saw. I happened upon it the same way you did..... pretty cool stuff.... A protege won for the first time not long ago. Held off a BMW.

Speed World Challenge - Touring Car series, that is where all the Mazda Proteges race.

Star Mazda is a totally different series, featuring spec Mazda formula open-wheel racecars with a 13B rotary engine!!!!!!!

Yes, the Touring series is a good one, I am actually on the crew for the Cougar that races in the same series with them. The guys are extremely nice and are very down to earth. The Mazda team has a total of 15 MP and they all benefit from each race they are in.. they currently race all 15 at verious venues as much as possible. Compared to our one cougar with no factory support they get as much data in a day running all 15 then we do in over a season.. They are making huge strides every day!
