i down for driving to las vegas (as long as michele is payin for the strip clubs). but serisouly i wouldn't mind cruising there. hell if someone doesnt mind getting their mazda a little dirty, id like to go up pikes peak once. (guitar) or we can run out to vegas and pick up michele's MSP take it up and down pikes peak then take it back (naughty) lol

hahaha just needs tires. damn car is so stiff/tight with suspension and bracing sometimes it feels RWD.

(in case you didnt know, i am pretty much one of the original founders of the las vegas mazda club here aka www.lvmazdas.com, and i was appointed event coordinator we can do scenic drives, autocrossing, strip clubs, bars, whatever! )

Hey I didnt read the whole thread but we are setting up a second Mazda meet in Desmoin Iowa this year.

last year was just breakfast, discounted dyno sessions and some cruising and hanging out.

This year we are considering a track day. Proabably just at the strip but there is a course there.


I'm also thinking of doing a meet localy (omaha/council bluffs area) around a track day or weekend later in the year.

This will mostly be done through mx6.com and is being hosted by a member named mazdaboyracer.

This year we expect:

96 MX-6 2.5L < my car

94 Probe 2.0L < my friend Tj's soon to be turbo FS.

MX-3 GS < swapped with a JDM BP-T

another MX-3 GS <swapped with a base model 1.6L SOHC motor. Dont ask me why.

1st gen probe with 3.0L V6.

94 MX-6 < mazdaboyracers car with a JDM KL-ZE swap and boltons.

2JZ powered single turbo supra.

84 Porche 944 non turbo.

Nissan 200SX. < friends car SE-R clone swapped with GTiR motor and 13" 4 piston front brakes and stock rear drums lol


90 Pontiac TransAm. < my other car should the MX-6 be un fit to attend. 350 TPI with ford racing injectors TPIS bored TB and AFPR.

ya i hear ya. well deff. do it in a few months. maybe a fun spring break thing. i wanted to make the supra meet this year, but i doubt ill do that if i do this and pinks all out in may with the 67. so ya....im all up for vegas though

word, oh and I decided that if I was going to do the gt3071r I wouldnt feal safe with out forging the block, so I decided to just go with the gt29... that way I may be able to get it done this year lol

thats kind of what I was hoping maybe getting some of the guys from Colorado to hook up and finish the drive up there.

well I just found out some upsetting news... this morning when I got off of work, the bosses told us that we may have to do some layoffs... if we lay off a few ppl I should be fine, cuz I'm the only one that can paint on our shift, but they made it sound like the whole plant maybe laid off... but then again news like that usually sounds worse than it turns out to be... I hope.

yeah I dont think I will get the lay off notice tho, they have to keep runnin parts, but not very many, and I dont mean to toot my own horn, but the plant would be screwed royaly if I wasnt there cuz our maintance crew sux horrible...

wed have to drive threw the mountains too, and the roads really aint that bad, I used to drive up to the ranch in Gardner Co several times a year, but never in the MSP, the only thing hat worries me is how will the car react to the altitude...(nervous)

Yeah, if we're doing this in the summer time, the drive through the mountains is gonna be one of the best parts of the drive. Nothing like blind hairpin corners with a drop off on one side and jagged rocks on the other to test Mazdas suspensions. Plus the view at the top can't be beat.

oh yeah, the mountain roads are sick the best part of going up there lol, but the hairpins can get a little hair raising in an 89 dualy lol

Well I made it through the first round of lay offs, and I'll be working a lot of Over time, so the MSP migh be done alot sooner lol

well, nevermind about the mazda gettin done any time soon, just got a letter from the dmv I have to pay 349 dollars to renew my tags, and I'm hoping thats some sort of mistake... and the good old supervisors out at Coleman just informed us that the entire plant is going to have to shut down for 3 weeks.... no bueno, so we may have to push this Vegas trip back a few...

mine is june 23rd, so that when i was hoping to make the drive out there. startin to save money (now that i got a job again).

but at least all of us going will be able to go and have fun everywhere. sorry to hear about the job joe. one of my best friends is probably losing his job too here at the factory he works at for dayco (making belts). the were making them work barely any, now they are making them work a ton of overtime so that they can over stock on belts when they lay them all off. kinda a bad deal.
