I put one on today and while it sounded good it is just not me. i put the stocker back on and that is me....

If you want a good deeper sound and do not mind the noise cruising at 75 then you will love it. Looks really nice, and it is a snap to install as long as your bolts are not rusted. I would say the muffler is loudest between 3000-4000 rpm's

lol i payed 142 shipped from a mazda dealer. i love it! i couldnt do the install due to rusted bolts though so i took it to a shop. one of the best purchases i ever made for a car. not really all that loud but its nice and sporty. and the drone isnt all that loud. i dunno why so many on here complain bout it. my accord stock was louder lol. i would highly recommend this axleback to anyone who doesnt want a catback but who also doesnt want a fart cannon as a muffler.

the drone is not near as bad as everone talks about. the drone comes on at about 70-75 miles an hour but isnt much louder than the road noice that the protege5 makes on the highway anyways. sounds amazing around town and i get nothing but complements on its tone. sounds amazing once warmed up, nice and deep

it is NOT fierce. my old sentra sounded like an srt-4. now that is fierce. the axleback isnt all that loud even at highway speeds. its nice and toned. honestly i think it gets the loudest around 3-4rpm. my music drowns out the exhaust anyways and my music is at a low setting

great piece. not great price though. iirc i got mine for 50 as well. minimal drone if this is your only exhaust mod. add a header and you WILL want to shoot yourself. again though, if this is your only change, it sounds great

i found it pretty bad. around town, it sounded great. on the freeway, it was bad. yes, the p5 has a lot of road noise to begin with, but with the axleback, it was annoying.

It is the real deal and the actual one I put on. Please do not misunderstand.. i liked the sound a lot but I do lots of driving at RPM's at 3 to 4000 rpm's where to me it is too load. For each person the volume they can take will be different. i am an OLD man at 36 so for me it was not worth the noise but it does sound god and it looks even better.

pro5driver i know what you mean i have the MS axle back with 2.5 inch catless exhaust and that thing is overwhelming at 3 to 4 grand right now just cost to much to get a more quiet exhuast.

Will the stock MSP axle back bolt onto the P5? Is it the same one as the mazdaspeed p5 axleback? I know i would most likely have to shorten it if it does fit on because the MSP is a bit longer than a P5.

Yes it is a direct bolt on other than needing to be shortened by 4-5". And it is not the same as the factory "mazdaspeed p5". That was made specifically for the P5 and the muffler is made by Borla. The MSP axleback is made by Racing Beat.

From what I have read the drone on the P5 axleback can be bad. My experience with the MSP axleback and intake is a very happy one. And my wife has never complained either so that has to be an indicator of something. lol

p5 axleback does drone but me in my infinite wisdom removed my cat and resonator and put straight piping in and slapped a turbo on now it makes my ears bleed.
