DIY Mazda Firmware Update Information

IMG_6599.webp

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to upgrade my system to get CarPlay. My current version is 59.00.540 4A N, and I need these files:

59.00.540 4A N

70.00.100A-FAILSAFE.UP

70.00.100A-REINSTALL.UP

70.00.367A-UPDATE.UP
74.00.324A-FAILSAFE.UP
74.00.324A-REINSTALL.UP

Does anyone know where I can get them in Australia?

Thanks in advance.

I just completed this today for my 2018 CX-5 running on 59.00.504. I PM'd @Candurin who sent me links to both files I needed to jump to 70.x and then to 74x. I was very patient and followed the procedure carefully. I'm planning to install my https://www.amazon.com (commissions earned) tomorrow.

Thank you for this post and prompt reply to my request for the files!
I don’t see why you need to go to 70 first since your on 59 which is newer than or greater than 55

PLEASE READ THE POST IN ITS ENTIRETY BEFORE POSTING A REPLY IN THIS THREAD.

To gain access to these files, please DM @Candurin. We ask that you be respectful when you do so. Candurin is a fellow user, and should be addressed as such. They are not a bot. Further, be mindful of your expectations - they may take some time to reply to your message for any number of reasons. Please be patient while you wait for a response. Failure to abide by these requests will result in corrective action, up to and including a permanent ban. Again, be respectful.

NOTE: If you have installed anything like AIO Tweaks, you must uninstall it before proceeding any further with firmware updates. The firmware update will not work with AIO Tweaks installed.

Firmware versions are region specific, so when you send a DM to @Candurin for the links, be sure to specify the following:

IMPORTANT NOTE: These files and processes are compiled from third party sources. Please be aware of the risks of performing these updates yourself. There is some potential to brick your CMU if some steps are missed or the wrong files are used. Mazdas247 does not assume responsibility of the actions taken by its members or the damages that may result from those actions.

These files are being provided as a courtesy to our members, by our own community members, to allow others to avoid the potential dealer fees and time wasted in the dealership, waiting for a technician to perform these updates. Keep in mind that these files and the links that may be provided to you carry no guarantee that they will remain intact in the future.

Typically, most people will perform these firmware updates in conjunction with an Android Auto Apple CarPlay retrofit kit, which can be purchased or ordered from any Mazda dealer. However, these firmware updates may also resolve certain bugs and glitches in previous versions, and may also improve overall performance of the infotainment system.

The most recent, and final update at this time is 74.00.324A. This firmware version/format (.up) will not be installed on new Mazdas. You must use the correct region for your Mazda, as detailed below.

74.00.324A NA N for North America, USA, Canada, Mexico, etc.
74.00.324A EU N for Europe and UK, etc.
74.00.324A 4A N (ADR) for Australia, NZ, Middle East, Thailand, South Africa, Oceania, etc.
