Let me just tell you, I have (had) a factory Mazda remote start that I recieved as a graduation gift for my 2007 Mazda 3.
I thought it would be perfect going off to college with. Cold mornings and hot summer days.
It worked good for the first week! I would press lock on my remote like the guy said and then press start, well the alarm would wake everyone up in my apartment complex. big mistake!
So I have taken my car back dealer about 8 times and I installed it Aug 07.
After a couple of months, my remote did not unlock or lock my car. If I wanted to get in to my car I would have to press unlock on my remote and even though it did not work i had to press it then put my key in to unlock it. If I didn't press unlock my alarm would go off. LAME!
Basically I couldn't handle it or the fact of driving down the interstate with my alarm going off for some strange reason.
My parents paid over $600 just for the remote start and labor. That doesn't include all of the times I have to take it back to the dealer and pay for them to "try" to fix it.
I believe I should get some money back for the remote start because they installed a factory mazda part that they didn't know how to work on it or it just never worked right!~!
Needless to say, last week I had my remote start taken out, I couldn't handle the embarrassment!!! They didn't even give me my parts to my remote start. I had to have my parents call back up there so I could get my p.o.s. part that doesn't work!!!
Please do not buy the factory remote start. I would suggest a aftermarket!
