Mazda Chat is now On!

flash chat module

u know i think a flash chat module on this mazda forum would be great.

a friend of mine has done this on his msg board: madfam

if u want to try it u have to register and then u can chat live with people with the chat module in the top frame of the website and browse the board in the bottom frame. people are usually chating on their lunch break.

by the way i created the logo and generic background graphics. i also did a bit of touch up on the small graphics used on the board. i guess we got a way from the stock look. call it a modified message board.

i was thinking about contacting the head of this board about implementing this on mazda forums.

they actually had a chat room on here for a while...no one used it.

i havent looked at yours at all, but the problem was that you could be on the chat and surfing the forums at the same time. there was also no real encouragement to use the feature...

i guess i didn t actually say it but, u can both access the msg boards and chat flash module at the same time within one browser. it s not a chat room.

well, if people won t use it than... to bad! i thought this forum was sort of a collectivist culture for mazda owners. i likewise thought maybe since there are so many members this site could benefit from a live channel of communication like flash chat.

i just talked to my friend and he says that his flash chat is an industry secret. i remember he went in a cave to research and get it working properly and it turned out to be a nice functional feature for his site when he finished. he said he doesn t care to share it now anyway. so there goes the whole collectivist culture idea.

by the way sorry to threadjack seemed related to the subject though.

using aim, click the "send chat invitation" then type your SN in the invite name and "mazda chat" in the room name

then click invite and you're the there.

i'm sure this is helping you some 15 hours later.
