MPG =/= emissions. That's the whole thing that VW got in trouble for, the MPG was there but it was producing way more in emissions than it was supposed to.

VW intentionally engineered a complicated defeat device into every vehicle and then conspired to hide evidence of it. Very different world. FWIW, I get the EPA MPG 5 years on...

Agreed. EPA MPG numbers have been very easy to hit on my CX-5. I tracked it a few times, but for the most part have not cared as a spirited driver. Sure hilly or areas where I go really fast affect it, but it's still pretty in-line. I'm not going to whine over 2 less MPG like the world ended.

This is very small potatoes compared to what happened with VAG. If that wasnt enough for them, they are getting bad news about their transmissions on the Atlas and the new Jetta. Apparently they are making some bad noises and VW is saying its normal.
