Hey all you Canucks,

I was jsut talking to Mazda Canada about the pain it is to get touch up paint (apparently didnt' have 24a in the computer) and I mentioned the cluck. The rep I was talking to talked to the QA depatment and THEY say they now have a permanant fix. I had her ask if it involved electrical tape and apparently it doesn't.

She was surpised my dealer didn't contact me.

Just thougth I would mention it.

Yah...I got the soooo called permanent fix....a hose with clamps...I don't see that as a permanent fix...HOW ABOUT NEW PERFECTLY FITTED BUSHINGS...sheesh...and I just got touch up paint...took almost two months...WOW THE SERVICE IS GREAT AT MAZDA!!!!

Yeah I've heard that new bushings are on the way for the clunking sound in the rear...haven't heard when they'll be available yet tho. :(

My dealer tells me the new fix is a bushing, but is on backorder with no stock in Canada. They believe it is coming out of sacramento and might know by Thursday.

The permanent fix is NOT the bushings - it is a replacement of the links. The technicians at my dealer has no problem getting them back in March; it takes about 1 week for the parts to come in. No noise problem since then for me!

Do a search of past threads and you will find lots of discussion about it.

I heard the exact same thing from my dealer....there may have been other fixes...but for right now that is what I'm waiting on my dealer to get.

While I'm not Canada, I am Wisconsin which is cold enough :). I've already had my rear sway bar replaced in January due to the noise (tried bushings first, didn't work). I'm going back on Monday because its back. What should I tell them is the correct fix!? Bushings? Links? Control Arms?! Thanks guys ;)

derrick,

Ok, but do you or anybody know if they've actually fixed the links (ie a different part)? Yeah I'll go get those replaced, but it'll get pretty lame if I'll have to take the car in every 6 months to get something like that replaced. Next thing you know warranty is up and we are all stuck with a shoddy rear suspension. We need to get Mazda informed.

Doomer, that's a very good point. Something I've always been concerned with....the warranty. All this, replacing going on is fine now, a pain in the ass yes, but it is free.

But, after the warranty, we have a serious problem. I for one don't usually keep cars past the warranty. But, this time things are different for me. I love the car, so I wouldn't mind keeping it. And we just bought our first home yesterday....we're so happy. But, now I have a s*** load of things to buy and get, and it looks like I'll be in no position to trade the car in 2 years time. So, I need this bushing crap fixed asap.

You'd think, that when they designed the mazdaspeed 3, that they would have used different bushings and s*** that would cure our problem as well.

Duh!

Back to the touchup paint...I ordered it the same day I picked up the car...took them a month to get...now I have 2 bottles..

One in the fridge and one in the freezer.
