Mazda 6 V6 ONLY*** fuel mileage

6s auto...every week for a year i've gotten 17.5 mpg (city and highway mixed), consistently. Only time it changes is when I go on a really long highway trip, then I've gotten 25-26mpg. Bad mileage due to a/c on ALL the time (friggin hot down here), and using manual mode a lot with high rpm shifting .

once you come up here you will still be using a/c cause traffic won't let you move(notcool) once the sun goes down you should be fine(smoke)

6i gets the fuel mileage due to the atx tranny+chassis weight and leaving the vtcs zone

I should mention that the only time I use AC in my car, is when I'm driving people around. I try to only use it on the hottest days (100F+), as I don't like the loss in power .

I never get worse the 20 mpg - But My petal is always on the floor however if it's all highway I get about 30 mpg driving between 75-95 mph 03 6s

damn. wish i could get mileage that good. 30mpg!!!!!! almost makes me wonder if something's wrong with my car.

Nah you've got normal mileage carolyn. Usually AC subtracts 2-4 mpg...so if the average 6s ATX is getting around 22-24 without the AC on....

Highest "proven" 6s MTX mileage I've seen is 31 mpg by mr jackalvt on a multi-state trip.

Well now that i put on my Injen & CP-E MAF Customizer this weekend i notice a bit more gas consumption. Probably due to the heavy foot, it just sounds so good to give it a little gas on takeoff with the CAI on and the resonator off. Oh well the price you pay for power.

The CP-E only kicks in when...

1) Your at 80% or higher Throttle Position.

And/or

2) Your at 4500 rpm.

So if you bypass either of those two situations, the CP-E unit won't effect your mileage .

Yeah, i hate that i use more gas, but love that feel and sound when you get on the gas pedal. The CAI + CP-E have the 6 runnin' smooth.
