Mazda 5 vs. Mazda 3 rims

Does anyone know if there is any major size difference between the 17" rim on the 5 vs. the 17" on the 3? What I am really concerned with is the ability to put a rim from the 3 on the 5 to be used as snow tire rims. I don't know if there is a difference in the offset. Any information would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Opus
P.S. I did try to search for this info but came up empty:)

While I can't say that I know for sure either, the 5 is based on, in fact uses the same chassis as the 3. As long as you go 16"er's or above (to clear the bigger brakes) I can't that there'd be any difference. 15's definitely won't fit. (Using the 2.3L engine, a good, educated guess.)

i agree with my man from the big country... personaly i would use the mazda5 rims as winter and the 3 as summer (cause i like the nice clean 5 spoke) good luck with your winter rim search

+1
I too like the look of the 5-spokes and agree with you there.
If you've got steelies (do they even have that option on the base 5's?) use them for your winters.

I saw a 5 today in the PL @ my work, so I checked it out. 205/50x17" Toyos on nearly flat alloys. I'd say the offset is exactly the same and one should easily exchange for the other.
Hey Derek! You guys having some earthquakes up there? 3.2 R is what I heard. Bet that's a first in your lifetime.
We had a couple of smaller ones in Pa., one on a Christmas night when I still lived there. I was driving at the time and never felt it.

have had earth quakes before... all have been off the coast on the islands... all really small... though we did just have a tornado and it caused some pretty serious damage... now that was a first... /end threadjack

You should have no problem as the offset on the 3 is +50 while it is +52.5 on the 5. I'd say that difference is negligible.

You may find the following guide useful. It has all the specs for all cars. http://www.fastco.ca/web-content/applicationguideindex.html

I agree completely. (cool) (cool)
There's something stuffy looking about the stock 5 wheels. I can't quite put a finger on it though. The 17" 3 wheels are (first) IMHO... especially when painted gunmetal gray.

Well... if it works for you... but I have seen the 3 wheel in carbon gray/gunmetal gray and think they're hot that way too.
If I ever get the chance to, I think they would look great on my Rally White too.
Just not black. That doesn't work as well IMO.

WooHoo!! Post 427!! Wasn't that a Chevy big block?

...And from everything I've seen about them, almost impossible to tame for the streets too. Can you say 9 MPG?
