Mazda 3 GT GFX (VIN)

Hope this is right first post.

We purchased this car, dealer said 3 week delay for order. Returned 2 days later, he said 2-3 months. Wanted to cancel order, he would not allow this. Next day he calls saying 'he found the car'. Went to see the car last night, he would not show it to us (said it was still wrapped)

Complete mistrust of dealership. I now have the vin does anyone know how to decipher it as I want to make very sure this car left Japan as a GFX leather and that I won't be buying tampered goods, thanks, Aly

first of all before you go looking for vin I have a question..did you sign any papers? if not tell the dealer to go f himself and find another one....he is being rude.

Also there is a law in canada I believe that states you have 30 days to back out but dont quote me on it........

On my receipt the dealer didnt go buy the vin for the model numbers it was this number

D4TD84AF00 (OO) this is a 2.3L GT GFX no leather but buy the VIN I cant tell.

Aly, welcome to this forum and you have good reason to mistrust your dealership. The still wrapped bit is total bulls***. If you wish, I can decipher your VIN for you. If you post the twelfth and thirteenth digits of your VIN, I can give you an approximate build date for the vehicle and also approximate dealer arrival date. Or, you can PM me your entire VIN, and I can tell you even more (like to ensure it's a sedan GT).

The D4TD84AF00 that canada3 posted is an internal options code. All the models and option packages have their unique internal code.

The dealer stated when we went to visit that the car was at the dealership but "wrapped' so we could not see it. That's when he gave us the vin saying to come back Monday or Tuesday.

Canada 3 I will request that internal code number, perhaps this will allow me to see how the car came off the production line, ie leather ect.

I only read this after the PM I sent to you. But yes, if you get the internal code number, just post it here (I only asked you to PM me your VIN because it's not a good idea to show that info on the net, but this option code is fine). I have the full list of Canadian Mazda3 internal codes, so if you get the code I can tell you exactly which option packaging your vehicle has.

Was wondering if you could help me out too, I have received the VIN from the dealer who claims the car will be in this week but it's on a train somewhere between BC and here...it's been 8 days!

Anyway, the 12th and 13th digits of the vin are 23...thoughts?

i ordered 2 fridays ago.. I was told 6-8 weeks.. last thursday i got VIN and that it's on the train in vancouver - prolly same batch as you now it's down to 4 weeks wait - as per dealer.. but everyone's telling me it'll be about 2 weeks.. b/c it takes 6 days on the train but then off the train on the truck.. PDI stuff and all..

btw.. the 12th and 13th digits.. i belive are from 23X XXX meaning.. 230+ units have been manufactured mine say that too..

You can cancel the order no problem, the papers that matter the most are the ones you sign the day of delivery. Trust me, I have plenty of experience buying cars.

Just like to know how is the VIN interpreted? I know the first letter correspond to where the vehicle is manufactured/assembled. But what about after the first letter, what do thoe letters and numbers after it represent?

So guys and girls .. my Indigo Blue Mazda 3 GT GFX MT sedan is in...love that new car smell. I was told that they are doing inventory at the rail yard so some of you guys with cars off the train may experience a small delay.

Really love the car, I had a 99 Integra before and I love the Mazda a lot more in terms of driveability..although the clutch has a pretty long throw..other than that .. no complaints!
