Mazda 2 heater

I recently purchased a Mazda 2 and am pretty well happy with it.
But, not much of a heater, takes about 8 miles to throw heat, I am used to new cars cooking you out. What do you guys in northern climes think of the Mazda 2 heater?
Thanks,
John

I wouldn't say I'm northern, but I've noticed that this car heats up pretty quickly. For me it's blowing warm in less than 3 miles... Hot in 5.

I am very pleased with the heater...from 28 to 32 F...I am in southern Indiana...in a couple of miles...the cold light goes off...and I have heat even before the cold light goes off....by the time I get to work...5 miles...I have to turn the temperature down...or it would cook me. It heats up every bit as fast as my Honda Civic did...and I thought it warmed up very rapidly.

I wonder if you have a bad thermostat?

I noticed that the heater in mine is pretty slow to heat up as well..

Mine is not a problem. I live on MI\OH line...then again...light goes off in under 2 min, blowing heat in no more than 5. My car hasnt been frozen yet as the winter is just now starting.

The heater does its business well in our shop car. When i drive it when it is cold out it warms up within 4-5 minutes.
