If it's a daily driver, I wouldn't go more than 10-12 for reliability
If it's a weekend car, then 15 or so.
If it's a track car, 20+ on a rebuild with strong inner bits.
Don't forget, the miata is pretty light weight. So a small boost in power will show a lot more than on a bigger car. I'm only running about 6 right now, and it's day and night between mine and a stock one. I'm putting down about 150 to the wheels. Of course, I got a 1.6l so I only had about 100 to begine with![]()
