max boost on miata?

pre 1997 miatas with the 1.8 had stronger internals than the 97s and up. you would be better suited with one of those cars and a trip to Flyin Miata

Can any of the miata guys come in and let us know the limitations of the stock rods?

And it's roughly the same displacement as well, right? That would mean you could get maybe 9-10 psi safely. I am basing this on my car, though.Captain KRM P5 said:

It all depends...
If it's a daily driver, I wouldn't go more than 10-12 for reliability
If it's a weekend car, then 15 or so.
If it's a track car, 20+ on a rebuild with strong inner bits.
Don't forget, the miata is pretty light weight. So a small boost in power will show a lot more than on a bigger car. I'm only running about 6 right now, and it's day and night between mine and a stock one. I'm putting down about 150 to the wheels. Of course, I got a 1.6l so I only had about 100 to begine with

cool, hopefully within the next few months ill find the right one, lookin for one with a hard top on it already.. but i am gonna get one with the 1.8l..
