Nice work Mark. Why was the ignition connector melted?
Apparently it’s a known issue with the early NA. Years of constant use, connection becomes loose from vibrations and it overheats.
First pic is my new/old stock connector. Second is my melted connector and third is the ignition switch end where it plugs in.

Did some vinyl top restoration today, come out great! My vinyl window is trash though☹️. I was thinking of tinting it, to take the curse off it? Looks like someone cleaned it with a wire brush!
While on the roof cleaning I thought I should check the drain holes/lines. 😬 Well clogged solid, both ends! Bottle cap, plastic bits and pieces, and a tape measure!!
Got ‘em cleaned out with a coat hanger.👍🏻

Top looks great which means replacing it for a new one with a glass window doesn't make much sense. I'd tint the vinyl for now. Oh man, that is crazy what you found in the drains, a tape measure? At least they are easier to clean than the drains on the ND. lol

Window tinted, it look better but not ideal.
Top pic is before
added a hood strut too.

Chasing down what I believe is a vacuum leak. Car runs fine on the gas, but at an idle it’s lump/800-1100 rpms, trying all the little things first, old rubber nipples (😜), and hose’s. Bought some silicone hose, coming next week. Some as hard as a rock!

Ummm, this is a family friendly forum Mark. Lol

Hopefully the new hoses will do the trick!
