MAM mid pipe user Q

thanx for the info, but are all bungs the same size? or should I take the o2 sensor off and bring that with me as well?

It's supose to be ''bolt on'' , the 2nd o2 sensor need to be ''plug'' somewer. I have the the bung already weld on the pipe.

I think if you wanted a wideband o2 bung, that was 10 bucks extra.

on your pipe is the o2 bung between the cat and the flex pipe? or is it after the cat?

thanx

thats a really common problem with the MAM midpipes

they rub the crossmember.. I had that problem too. Kartboy exhaust hangers kinda fix it.. wont rub AS bad.. still rubs..

you need to take it into an exhaust shop and have them bend the hangers

shhh thats the easy answer... must b**** about everything.

I love how everyones a critic but i dont see them making thier own pipes. Better yet call wagner i hear he makes a great midpipe (pow)

I hate pepeol who don't know what we talking about and don't read all the tread before posting a stupid awswer. Bending the hanger don't resolve the proplem the flex join is before the crossmember and the hangers if I bend the hangers like you sed I just put more unwnated load on the exaust manif...... IT's like trying to lift the engine....I'm wondering who is the idot now.....

Uhhh no. Bending the hangar didn't help. The problem is the pipe was ****** up. We wouldn't have hacked it to s*** and then put it back together if the hangar was the problem.

As soon as posible I will take picture of the modif a I have do to the mid pipe to avoid touching the crossmember.

Ok know-it-all. Call SPD Racing, ask for Seth, and explain it to him the problem actually the hangars. (760)787-5759. I'm not going to sit here and argue with the clueless.

ok then the point of this thread? Sounds like a faulty pipe... Honestly lets see some pics.

You heard wrong. I was just there last week. They just do custom fabrications now and no more parts.

SPD is no more from everything i have read/heard

Ahh, and of course we all defer to you all knowing wisdom, especially when it comes to midpipes.

What can I say, the first set of midpipes was garbage. Beau knew there was a problem and he stated that he added a flex pipe to alleviate the problem. Whether it works or not, I don't know. I don't have a second generation pipe.

SPD sucks... hes been talking s*** about the mid-pipe for ages.

I just read this thread for the first time.
First, Midpipes do not come with O2 bungs. If you want one you need to say so when ordering. Reason being is 70% of midpipe orders are from NA proteges. The flex joint is put near the back because the outer diameter is to much to clear the crossmember.
As for the leverage comment, our motors torque forward and aft.
Midpipes hit the crossmember for several reasons. Saggy exhaust hangers or a bad motor mount. We all know our motor mounts suck and typically are shot within 15K miles.
If your midpipe hits, bend the hangers. It takes longer to get on the forum and type out your complaint than if you bent the hangers. Or by calling me I can help out.
As for SPD fixing your midpipe, they never even paid me for there orders. so they where dealers for less than a month..Also, they only bought 3 and they where 1-2 months before you bought yours. By the pictures I seen of your setup, it didn't look like my first Gen Midpipes.. Maybe it was one of there attempts to produce one. My first gen Midpipes did not have a flex joint and the hangers where upside down.. Yours has a flex and the hangers where different. Also, they sold it to you for like $75 or something like that if I remember, they pay more as a dealer than that.

I remember when you were going through all that BS with SPD... by the way you ever get paid or the things you ordered?
