Maintenance to catch up on?

:
2014 CX-5 GS AWD
I take my CX-5 in regularly to the dealership for services every 5,000 miles(8,000km). Every major service they lubricate brake slider pins, and a more thorough inspection. Every service includes checking air filters, doing an oil change, a basic inspection, etc. But the car now has almost 80,000km on it and they've never done things like spark plugs, brake fluid, etc. Should I get that stuff done? And when warranty is up, I'll be doing oil changes on it, so with that, can I safely do a 10,000 miles interval(16,000km?). I have seen some data on here that shows a 10k service is safe, but barely. And I want to mile this thing out, so I would like an ideal servicing interval for using the most of the oil, but also still being safe, since I know 5k changes are way too short. Anyways, some advice would be great!

you don't have anything special to do at just 80,000km (just 50,000mi)

spark plugs are later.. at 75,000mi?

I wouldn't do 10,000 mi intervals. If you do any short trips in cold weather the oil will accumulate fuel and become diluted.
There is very little to be gained by extending the interval. If you go with some good cheap oil (like mobil 1) you can change it for <$30.

Changing the oil on the CX-5 is super easy.
No need to jack the car up and once you've done it once or twice, it takes 15 minutes.

The owners manual has detail maintenance schedules, depending on your driving trips.

+1 also change your own in cabin and engine air filters. The in cabin, in the glove compartment takes less than 30 seconds to change and the dealer will try to charge you $80.00!

Mazda recommends shorter oil change interval - 4 months or 5,000 miles whichever comes first in Canada, instead of 6 months or 7,500 miles in the US, apparently to avoid oil dilution issues like their diesel although from different cause which most likely happens in colder environment such as in Canada. You should follow 4-month / 5,000-mile OCI recommended by Mazda and don't stretch it further. Those UOA's data you'd seen may come from hotter environment and may not be suitable to your situation.

Although you don't see these maintenance items listed in the owner's manual, I suggest you should consider changing brake fluid, front transfer case and rear differential gear lubricant, and automatic transmission fluid at 50,000 miles / 80,000 km.

Highly suggest brake fluid...at that mileage it should low and dark. Oh and those spark plugs. Gotta do mines as the next DIY project.

I think the 4 month recommendation is a bit ridiculous and designed to get you into the dealer more often. I just got my "4 month notice"... I haven't even crossed 3,000 yet...

And here I am trying to get in ASAP because I've somehow managed to hit about 8k miles since last oil change in January. Luckily am getting in Wednesday.
