Magnecor ignition wires

been reading this thread for a while now and most everyone else has asked or answered all the questions i had in mind, but i have a couple now... first did you go get a dyno done before like you said you were going to? and if so what where your results? you only have a cai for aftermarket right? secondly have you gone back yet since the install? does the engine cover fit over the head the same as before with the coil packs moved and the added wiring and what not.... and last thanks for being the first i know of to do this and tell us your results/probs.... been very informative...

hey tgv121281, how did you decide where to mount the coils when you were relocating them? and could they possibly be mounted somewhere else?

Ok guys, gonna answer as many as I can....If i miss anyone please let me know...

-Mounting Coils: Decision was easy, thats pretty much the only place(that I know of) you can mount them...Again, directions didnt state where to mount the relocation bracket. But after alot of "maybe here, no no maybe here"..the only place I was able to find was above the mani. And I'm positive this is where its supposed to mount b/c the bracket has 2 predrilled holes for the bolts...and this is the only place where the holes on the bracket match mounting holes....You MAY be able tomount it elsewhere, but I doubt it AND you'd prob. have to make some significant modifications...

-Dyno: No unfortunately i didnt get a dyno 1st...I wouldnt have had enough time b/c there's onl;y 1 place I know of here that has a dyno and they are booked about a week or more in advance.....so If I wouldve waited, Nology would not have honored their refund offer...But the diffrence can be felt...so much that even if the hp/tq numbers havent increased, I'm still satisfied.

-Other Mods: If you read my signature there's a few things I've done....performance wise CAI, exhaust(w/hi flow cat), grounded TB, adn I guess you could throw the short shifter in the mix since it smoothes things out...

-Dyno2-I'm scheduled for late next week, however they are supposed to call me if there are any cancellations, keep in mind this will be the 1st dyno....

-Engine Cover: As I believe I mentioned below, yes the engine cover fits on there perfectly....As long as you take you're time and snake the wires through neatly.

-Your welcome for sharing the info, thats what this forum is supposed to be about. As far as I'm concerned, if there's anything someone wants to know that I can answer or advise them on I do.....its the right thing to do b/c we're all here for the same reason. ANd also, I wouldnt like it if someone ignored me or gave me bad advice when I needed help. Now I'm trying to work up the nerves (& $$$) for the Intake manifold...just not sure I can tackle that one myself w/ my experience.

-Improvements/Satisfaction: Yes, I am satisfied w/ my purchase...I only wish I knew what I know now about the install...It was relatively simple once you made you're own directions and combined them w/ the paragraph of advice Nology sends you. The improvements I've noticed so far have mostly been throttle response, espesciall in higher Rpm's(4500+), better MPG...(just emptied the tank and got 326mile sout of it....driving hard during 80% of the time to really see if it helps, and it feels like there are some minor mid-top end increase in hp/tq....In addition the car seems to operate smoother all around, and its actually slightly louder...but not much..I'd say only noticeable unless you actually own one of these cars..

Goldwing...I'm not sure what that means..but please follow up and see what he's talking about....Also, my 1 worry is if the heat will be too much for the coilpacks...Nology says no one w/ the focus has had any problems..but I'd like a 2nd opinion...realisitcally they were sitting on the valve cover before and they get pretty damn hot there....by touch there doesnt seem to be too much more heat...but I'm curious...

Hope this helps...anything else let me know...any other pics let me know....Badger..are you satisfied w/ the pics???

well it motivated me enough to purchase the whole setup, powercores and all... which were supposed to be delivered yesterday but the damned ups driver didnt know where my address was so he put that it did not exist.... so now i have to pick it up, and my wires still arent here :( but i have a feeling they might be by the end of next week, nopi said they had to have them drop shipped from nology, which sux0r, because i would have just bought them from nology but they cost 30bux more than nopi!

hey did your hotwires come with a new harness for the coils, because mine didnt, i am hopeing that the power cores come with the new harness.....

No, if you read below they forgot the harness.....But they realized it the day after it shipped..so it wasnt a big delay...just wasnt there for the weekend..
To be honest, I would call them....b/c from what I could tell...the cores didnt come with a harness...they plug into the harness for the hotwires conversion....so they should just have 1 connector.....I would call Jeff asap so you get the harness by the time you get the cores...DONT try installing w/out the harness lik eI did unless you have another ride as it can t be driven...

yeah i sent him an email and they overnighted it, nology has great customer service, i already have them installed, the car feels smoother, i dont know if it was worth 450 bux but i do think it made a noticible difference, oh and when i was looking at your install pics, i noticed that you really didnt ground the wires, because the bolts that you chose are anchored into a plastic valve cover, that doesnt ground anything..... in the installation instructions they use those bolts because the valve cover is metal

I've realized and recently installed the hyper ground system, so I did away w/ that grounding starp...but thanks anyway!

no re read my post, i said i DO think it made a noticable difference, but i dont know if it was worth the 450bux, the acceleration seems smoother, the car has less throttle lag and more quickness when the pedal is floored
