Magnaflow cat-back

Hi everyone,
on another discussion board, a guy is selling his MSP Magnaflow cat-back exhaust. I happen to have a 2001 2L LX and was wondering if it would fit. I was checking on the magnaflow site for comparisons between the MSP and MP3/sedan exhaust. They seem somewhat identical except for the fact that the MP3/sedan cat-back has a resonator.

Here's where I want to go with all this... would the MSP version fit on my car and what is the impact of not having a resonator on my car? Thanks for any input!

I slapped on a magnaflow on my ES years ago. Absolutly love it. While I was there I had the resonater cut off and a "high flow" (wink)(wink) cat installed.

I at first had them leave on the resonater. It did exactly what it is supposed to do. It muffled the sounds and sucked hp. It was cut off literally 5 minutes later.

the mazdaspeed version will physically fit, but it will be much louder without the resonator.

whats the best/nice fitment cat-back for an '00 ES automatic? Magnaflow? Does Racing Beat make one that fits. All I find is for 2001+

racingbeat sounds the best, and probably fits the best - magnaflow is probably second

thanks for the input. Anybody know who makes a sys. for 2000 models? Will the 2001 stuff fit? Are the chassis that different?

an exhaust made for a 2001+ protege "sedan" will fit the 99-00 models - just don't get one made for a protege5, as it will be too short by about 4-5 inches
