curious if anyone has done it? ive got a buddie with a msp that has done it and loves it. could it cure any of our problems. discuss...

more or less i have the boost creep problem that comes with a fmic and 3" tbe. my thought with relocating the maf is that it will read the steady increase of boost better if it is after the turbo instead of before. or im completely wrong and it wont do anything! someone give me a lesson on maf's!

The only real benefit to the MAF relocation on the MSP is that you can locate it after the BOV and run full VTA without all the stalling/rich condition crap. Boost creep is typically more indicative of having an exhaust setup with too little backpressure, such that the wastegate cannot dump enough exhaust at higher rpms, and you keep building boost even with the wastegate wide open. At that point an external wastegate is what you want.

Aside from that, there's the practical issue of whether or not a given MAF can function correctly as a blow-through sensor. I'd be very concerned about whether the MS3's MAF is capable of holding up to 18psi without leaking or even blowing right out of its port.

EDIT: Just noticed you're from the twin cities area... you should pop over to mnmazda.com when you get the chance!

/facepalm...

LOL, I thought your sig looked familiar, and then I realized you've been on mnmazda for awhile, just with a different username.

You will also have to relocate the IAT sensor. If you move the IAT sensor post turbo (its part of the maf housing), your car will go insane pulling timing.

Past 88F (IAT) the engine pulls timing...so if your IAT is seeing boost level temps, you'll see a drop in power as the engine pulls timing up the wazzo.
