Mac's Twin Turbo Cobra....information and build thread

Another update!

So most of the cold side is on...have all the oil lines ran...scavenge pump is in...just have to get the top side done now and tweak a couple things like in most kits, but overall it's coming along nicely! I figure it will be done in about 10-12 days!

Top side...don't mind some of the harnesses hanging, everything will be placed real tight when it's all on :rolling: I loveee the look of the fuel line :)

is the scavenger pump to take the oil from the drain side of turbos and push it back into pan since your turbos are so low?

Yupppp exactly. That way the oil won't get backed up in there and blow the seals/have it coming out the tail pipes haha

that's got me thinking......... wonder if i could just use a separate oil system with a tank and a cooler and a pump like yours then i could also have the oil circulate after the car is off to cool the turbo down.

Never understood the point of a TT to cool off a turbo. You still have hot ass exhaust going through it

I guess you could do that...the thing is though...you want the turbo to be hotter when you are out driving it, that's what helps it spool faster....that is the main reasons turbo blankets were invented...not only to help so the heat doesn't soak your engine...but to keep the heat in the turbo and help it spool sooner.

....... good point

Little update! Car's coming along...just waiting on a few little things that are already on their way and should be here by tuesday...the idlers and tensioner, the alternator pigtail, and the fuel rail pressure sensor. Also I bought a new power steering resevoir to get the ugly stock one out of the way and am going to purchase a moroso oil breather as well

Oh and I forgot to mention I have brand new "powere by ford" coil covers on their way and I'm getting rid of the blue coupler and getting a black one as well

We got the driver side turbo all worked out

Alright, so for those of you who are actually still interested here's an update! Sorry it has taken so long but there have been soooo many more things I needed to buy and order for it! The car should be done a week from this friday for sureee. New parts I just purchased are a battery relocation kit to put the battery in the trunk and a Moroso oil breather to catch the oil coming from the valve covers...they will be connected to the oil breather with all fragola lines and fittings :)

So here's some pics of what it looks like now...I just need the alternator pigtail, vaccuum lines ran, and the rest of the boost controller wired and it's all good to go!

Here's a few things I'm changing...the are circled in the bottom left is the MAF housing and I just dropped that off to get powder-coated flat black as well. Also the blue connector to the throttle body is getting changed to a black one!

That little indentation on the upper intake has a cobra emblem that goes there...I'm just not putting it on until the car is finished!

Got an update today! Almost everything is done...just need to throw on the water pump pulley, get the serpentine belt and run the vacuum line! We will be able to start the car once the water pump pulley is on!!! It will be done in a day or two!!
