M3 Kill Story

Ok - well not really. Was with nrcooled this morning in his 240 (w/ SR20 swap and a few other mods) running some errands. He was just saying that he never has had a chance to run against an M3. On our way home there was a guy on 395 heading onto 495 in an M3 that was wanting to play. We made it around the bend on 495 and the M3 passed us on the inside. The M3 hit it, so of course nrcooled hit it, and we stayed pretty well in his ass. Ran into too much traffic, and nrcooled hit his speed cut so the M3 started pulling (dammit). The M3 driver pulled next to us and gave us a thumbs up. We exited Braddock and so did the M3. We got caught at a light next to each other and the driver said (in a very Carribbean/Jamaican accent) that he races with SCCA professionally, and then proceeded to tell nrcooled that he drove well, but made one mistake by not staying to the inside on that first turn. Another thumb swapping took place and we were on our way. LOTS of fun. So now I am thinking I need to get an M3. That damn car is so sexy.

i will say that is was really fun. You don't see very many drivers on the road that can actually drive. Especially guys that own M3s, vettes, etc. They normally just like the status of the car and never see the true potential.

You gotta love M3s but then again my brother owns a 1997 Dinan Supercharged M3.

Hopefully this link will work for me. First time try and posting pix.

Great story...
I was driving in DC tonight and was stopped at a light near Chinatown when this guy walked by my window and looked at me and said, "zoom zoom"

Holy coincidence. I was just up in Maryland this evening Test driving a 1999 m3! Was fantastic!

I've always liked BMW M3's, the car for me is right up there with the Ferrari 360 Modena. I love both of those cars, and If I was rich, I'd buy a 2 of each. One to modify, and race around, and the other to leave stock and drive nicely in. The m3 is a really nice car

Driving the M3 was incredible. My buddy had a 97 w/ a shark injector chip mod, Conforti intake and exhaust. That sucker moved.

The only thing I didn't like was the throw on the shifter.... too long for me. Other than that it was fun breaking traction from 1st to 2nd :D

The e46 m3 is just damn fast but hte e36 is one that I can definately hang with. In a straight line I am faster then the e36 and around corners it's dead even.
The e46 is just too much car for the 240sx. The guy that was driving that particular e46 could handle every single hp too!

I do enough damage with 130hp. I can't imagine what kinda trouble I'd get myself in with 333 and rwd

And yes, I'm also a long-time fan of the M3 :)

M3's are all good until something breaks or you have to get some work done.......

better bring your wallet!!!.....and the check book!!!!

I don't think that people that own M3's have a big problem shelling out cash if something did brake on the car.. hee hee.. :D

The cool thing is that not much stuff breaks on the m3. But when they do it is a PITA to fix. Water pumps that are require dismantling half the engine to get to, etc.

I would buy a e36 m3 (since that is the one I can afford) in a heartbeat though. Just great all around cars.
