My question is how much better does the Quaife work, its twice the price. Is it that much better??

Yeah, we're thinking too much alike now. . .I totally want to know the answer to that one.

I almost bought the Quaife, but I can't see why it is twice as much. Plus no one "knows" how to install it. Need to modify something, but don't know what. I've heard good things about Quaife, but they've always been stuff like great unit, good quality, highly recommend it, but never WHY!

i hate to be a complete moron but to tell you the truth I learn by asking and I have learned a lot about our cars by working on my own.. and thankfully I have this place because with out you guys I am pretty sure my car wouldn't be running from all my mucking around. anyway what gain does one get out of a limited slip diff, i get that it might apply power evenly to both wheels instead of more to one side. Am I right in assuming so?

Yeah, basically is that, This car delivers good torque to the wheels, not having the LSD, it will break loose on one wheel, thus loosing traction.
I dare to say that on N/A Proteges/MP3/P5 will be helpful on 1st gear launches.
On turbos, 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears.

Ah I forgot, taking hard turns, LSD will help too. When the wheel with less traction will spin if you accelerate hard.

LSD will anyway make some spin, but as soon as it senses one wheel spinning it will transfer it to the other.

Hey guys! Sorry for the long absence. I have been putting my car back together. Well it is official, my car if RUNNING!!! It has only been 4 months but it is back on the road. As far as the LSD goes I have not been able to really test it out yet (still have to break in the motor). I will let you guys know my feedback once my engine is broken in and I can get into it! By the way, the with the rear AWR motor mount on the car feel super tight! But that is a whole other thread!:)

Did you do the install yourself? How tough was it?
Does paulmp3's list look complete to you (I'm sure it is, but waiting for a second opinion). I cannot afford to have my car down for a long time again, but I really want to do this.
