Lsd help!!!

I am starting to notice more and more a knock from the lsd slipping during take off. Lately I have been very smooth on take offs to avoid it breaking down on me. I guess its around that time to get it welded but I am a bit lost on what to do.

What is the best way to do this, get a hole transmission and weld the lsd or what? I need help with this one.
 
DO NOT weld a used lsd. u have to buy a new revised msp lsd and have it welded or pay for the welding service through the merchant. or u could spend 100 more and get the mfactory. but what makes u think its ur lsd? maybe ur clutch is screwed.
 
The reason I think it is the LSD is because the knocking happens mostly when starting off in first going in to a turn. I was thinking it would be wise to change the clutch and flywheel while down there. With all the added torque i am noticing it more. I bought the car with 70,000 miles on it, it know has 116,000 and I have never replaced the clutch or LSD and i am not sure of previous work.
 
Well its def possible with those miles but I have never heard of the lsd really giving a warning...mine just went.

And def DO NOT weld your used one.

Sounds more like a clutch to me too
 
+1 for Clutch.
From my experience LSD either work or they don't. Like said above, they usually don't give warning.
 
I hope that is the problem, like i said ...I have never changed the clutch in the car and I've had it for 40,000 miles. Definitely sounds a lot cheaper that an LSD for right now.
 
Also it is okay to weld a used msp lsd as long as the casing isn't cracked already which prety much they are good or cracked all the way around and make a good paper weight. I would definately say it's clutch chatter from a worn thin disk that is also slipping.
 
Hey, I noticed I am suffering from a similar problem. While driving in 1st gear and turning in 1st gear I am hearing a knock. Did you ever figure out what it was?
 
are yo sure its not your axles man? you said it usually makes the noise in first when your turning...sounds like a bad cv joint
