Lowering

Yea. If you stay with a 16" wheel, you can run any lowering spring from espiler to eibach to racing beat with out rubbing. Moving to a 17" wheel, I know the Racing Beat lowering springs won't rub (only lower .75"), but if you don't get a high enough offset with other springs that lower the car around 1.5", you will probably rub. There's a thread I believe entitled "rishie's fitment guide". search for that and it should answer the majority of your questions.

We have tien basics one ours. lowered all the way down with zero rub on stockies.

yeah get coilovers and dump it and roll the fenders and get 8" wide wheels with +40 or 'so' offset and stretched tires....done!

others dont agree with my style.

Yes they do (RTM) lol. I do so very much, btw, I just picked up another Corrado. You would be interested in that info haha.

Back to topic. Yes roll the lips. P5's have massive lips. I would roll mine, but i have no rubing anywhere so I'm not concerned. I've given up modding this turd. Back to what I know.

tokico blues+espilar springs+(205/50r17)-fat chicks in the back= no rub. do yourself a favor, get adjustable endlinks for the fronts to avoid clicking noises

As do I. It's just a shame that the wheels I really want aren't made in 5x114:(

They make adapters. We run them all the time on hi-hp VW's all the time. The wheels I want are always 5x114.3 and I want 5x100 lol.

The rims I'm looking to get are 17x7 with an offset of +40. That wheel fitment guide suggests +45mm. I do plan on lowering my car and I really like the rims. So will I just need 5mm spacers on the drive wheels since they are the only one's that turn? Is it bad to run 5mm wheel spacers?

Follow Tifun's buildup, he's going for that style...

That project is on a temporary hold. Mostly out of spite. The car made me mad lol. Suspension doesn't go low enough for the proper stretch and poke. So I ended up buying mew wheels for the Audi, and picked up another Corrado.....I would be interested in selling the Tien coilovers though if someone was interested.

yeah, so I'm about to get in on this thread, prepare to be amazed!
Obakaybe, so i have no ****** idea what you guys are talking about with the 40+ mm s*** and "rolling" your fenders or whatever. Dude, I'm totally ******* lost. I wanna lower the old P5, and i been looking around a bunch of threads but can't find any that don't use jargon. (ecuse my lack of knowledge) can someone please explain some of this to me in laimens terms, cuz i still don't know why you can't just slam the b**** down and call it a day. and how do you find out if it's gonna work with a certain aftermarket rim or not? i dont know. can someone help me?
