what's up everyone!

P5 newbie here, I got my P5 two days ago and I am wanting to lower it already. I just had some questions about it. I want to know what set I should go with if i want just a nice inch, inch and a half drop. Something that looks decent with 17 inch wheels and rides decently. I am shying away from coil overs because of the camber problems everytime you changed the height. Also, I want to know if anyone has had trouble with camber with a inch or so drop. let me know

If you lower your car, you will need an alignment. But if you're not going to be adjusting the height all that much then, you may not need coilovers. You don't need to get an alignment everytime you adjust the height if the adjustment are less than 3/4 of an inch. Of course, if you are one of those paranoid people who worries about you tires wearing all the time. Then definately stay away from coilovers. My advice though is to get the coilover kit installed then go to a wheel and tire shop that does lifetime alignments. That way you can go back and get you car realigned as much as you want.

It depends on if you are doing it for looks or handling or both........If you want it to handle real well and also look good i would recommend doing a coil over system on it.....That can be pricey........Or i would by some Toicko or eibach(spelling wrong) springs which will lower it and still help in the handling but not as well as the coil over system........ I own a mp3 so it handles well...I have been going back and forth about using jic coil sytem or buy some nice lowering springs......I decided since the car handles very well i will put springs on it.......THat way i can save a $1000 and put that money somewhere else.......

JIC all the way

i was thinking of geting the ground controls for my mp3 but because i am a daily driver and I dont want a real tight ride and want to be able to bring the car to lawn mower mode to impess the judges i have decided to go with the jic's with the dampening. it is going to cost more but i think it will be worth it in the long run. If you are thinking of geting springs for your mp3 you should loook back at some threads, if i rember right some people have done springs and didnt change the height at all.:p

yea I had a skunk 2 colis on my last car with tokico blues shocks and I had alot of trouble with tire wear. So I am looking to just buy springs so i can align it once and be done with it. I want something that rides nice and looks good. So overall i am looking for looks and performance. I have a buddie with a SVT contour and he has h&r drop spring on it. they ride nice and look decent. I am kinda leaning towards them now though. Also i dont like how the rear end of my p5 is higher then the front. I know that most are like that and i havent found any drop springs that dropped the back more than the front. I want to try to level it out alittle. Any info let me know. thanx appreciate it!!!

Actually I think the H&R's will lower the rear more than the front for the pro/p5. I think it's 1.3" and 1.5" front to rear. The Ebach's are listed as 1.3" and 1.7" front to rear.
