First off there are different types of demand. Ask anyone whose ever taken basic economoics. Gas is considered "inelastic demand", which means demand has no effect on supply or price and vice versa. Same as water and electricity. We all have to have it and will have to pay whatever price for it whether we like it or not. Secondly, compared to the rest of the world $2.50 a gallon is dirt cheap. In Europe they have been paying like $4-$5 a gallon for like the last 10 years. So frankly, we should still consider ourselves lucky. Not to mention, be glad you don't live around the Detroit area like I do. We have all of jack and s*** for public transportation, no thanks to the lobbying from the Big 3. So us Detroiters are pretty much forced to pay whatever the oil companies feel like charging.

Christ, if I have to listen to people complain about gas prices much longer my head will explode... Carpool, take the bus, bike.
Myself? I carpool 4-5 times a week. It costs me $35 ($2.50 93 octane) every 2-3 weeks to fill up. My pockets are REALLY hurting! Oh noes1!1!?!

I have actually been regretting my V6 for the past few months even though I have cut a lot of costs here and there and I do save a considerable amount of money every month. I just feel that it's a waste every single time I fill up. I got a low mileage lease to force me to drive less but it's still over 50 bux most of the time when I fill up. I'm thinking of transfering my lease over to someone else that wants it and getting back into a Mazda 3s or 6i. I'm leaning more towards a 6i because the 3 here doesnt even have side air bags as an option, and the way people drive in this city is absolutely rediculous.
Another option, if everyone on this continent got use to driving freaking diesel cars which are just as quick due to the high torque at low rpm demand can go down as much as 30%. If there we're diesel Mazda's on the canadian market I would be the first one to buy one.
