Lower The Gas Prices Now!!!

I don't know about you man, but I'm a starving college student that commutes back and forth to work and school everyday of the week. I can barely afford gas at the price that it is now and would not be able to afford it if it goes much higher. The high gas prices are not the solution to getting rid of the idiots in their SUV's. If they can afford to buy one of the damn things in the first place and then be able to pay the insurance on top of it, I'm sure that they won't have any problem filling up the tank everytime that they need to. This is really only going to hurt the economy and the little guy in the long run. I'm all for boycotting rising gas prices and I would gladly do more to see those ignorant asses from the gas companies and OPEC get what's coming to them for being so greedy.

As my guitar gently weeps/ cue the tiny violin

Carpool, Public Transportation, Get a bike, sell your car and buy something that gets better gas mileage. I realize it ain't easy, but you're driving a new car - sell that car and you'll have some money to spend on gas.

Starving college student indeed.

omg- the US stock market is tumbling! its tony blair's fault! (similar statement to that one you made)

whos ignorant? The reason why gas has sky rocketed in price is because W is holding back his oil reserves. Which in affect is causing the global price of oil to rise, which in turn gives more money to the saudis (or should I say W's friends), which in turn will eventually get kicked back to Mr Bush. Maybe you shouldnt jump to conclusions so quickly, especially b4 knowing why the oil price has jumped so much!

So yes, it is W's fault.

in an effort to keep this from turning into a political debate i'm am going to ignore the comment above me. anyways as for the using diesel engines there is a slight problem with that. diesel fuel in my area costs more than 93 octane. the only real way to lower gas prices is for everyone to ride scooters, and lower the speed limit to 30. since most of us would probably drive our cars off of cliffs if that happened i don't see another solution. europe pays somewhere in the 5 dollar range per gallon.

I caught the tail end of a segment on the news last night about it's expected to increase again soon. Then i'm guessing the usual increase around memorial day too.

Actually diesel's aren't a bad idea. I'm really considering buying a diesel for my next car. They're fun 'cause even a smaller diesel engine makes almost as much torque as a big V8. And yeah the cost of diesel fuel is up, but they get almost as good mileage as hybrids, actually better on the highway. And with the new standards for low sulfur diesel fuel coming up soon, thier emmissions will be better than most of our cars are now.

wait....you just said that the last idea failed (for us not buying gas) you said that the oil companies laughed at us, and it hurt us more than them....well...didn't you also say that your new idea is...not buy gas for the rest of the year \....the major companies are everywhere...there are very little amount of minor little gas stations...what we need to do is slap the guy who got us to where we are, and set his s*** straight (protest)

If you are still going to stand up for that guy, you're an idiot.

I didnt do much research on this, but I guess you can no longer buy a diesel in Mass any more.
