And a higher idle speed than is necessary simply wastes fuel...so I think that manufacturers have gone to some lengths to decrease idle speed to boost the "city" fuel mileage.
This. I experience a 600rpm idle too, and sometimes it shutters like it wants to stall on initial start-up. I believe Precious hit the nail on the head on this one.
I don't really care where it wants to idle, just the shuttering like it wants to die concerns me a bit. Maybe there will be a dealer reflash issued in the future to correct it a bit. Seems most cars idle around 750-800.
what car? most modded engines idle around 1000 and even tho most dont like that.
i was watching a video on some ford tech guy talking about some 800hp saleen mustang and how they made it to idle under 1000 b/c something its better blah blah
