LOUD rubbing noise when turning hard rights

Since i bought the car if i turn all the way to the right and go forward, i hear a LOUD sound that would resemble what i would call a metal grinding noise. I took it to the dealership and they said they couldn't find anything - I'm not convinced they even drove it, though.

Do you guys have any suggestions as to what it may be? I hate to take my Cobb SRI back off and take it in again for them to look at. Car has 2K miles on it

Thanks!

mine does this too. No idea what it is though. My guess... Power stearing pump.

If you can make the "metal grinding noise" happen at will, I'd go back to the dealership and show them exactly what you're talking about.

My 2007 MS3 starting doing this around 20k miles when turning left or right with the wheel turned almost to opposite lock. It's loud and embarassing when turning out of a parking space or similar tight spot. Did you find out what was the source of the grinding? I'm heading to the dealer soon, but would like to hear some feedback before I go. Thx

My car does this exact same thing, im glad im not the only one....i have 34K on my car though so i was actually wondering if my shocks/struts were going already...maybe time for coils

Check for tears in your CV boots. If there are, the grease inside could be contaminated or gone and your axles might be on their way out.

mine does it too sometime and only when it feels like it.. so i tried taking it to the dealership and i couldnt duplicate it so nothing was done about it.. =(

WOW YOU GUYS! MINE DOES IT ALSO!...buh i also when turning really sharply.......at first!.....for some reason now, it doesnt do it anymore.? but i know exactly what u guys are talking about, i tryed mentioning a wheel bearing, or anything chassis related. i forgot what they fixed, i will be checking the for the papers asap, and let u kno.

Thanks, let us know! I am going to try and find time to take the car BACK into the dealership (take intake back off..... grr my dealership is anal).

I took it in once for this and ofcourse they said they couldnt replicate it. I will next time make them WATCH me turn hard right, slow, and they will hear it grinding. It happens 75% of the time when turning hard right into a parking spot and it indeed is embarrassing.

I haven't changed, but my car only has 4K miles on it. It did this yesterday turning into another parking spot. Grrrr.

I think he might be suggesting that it's actually caused by the MT-90. Lots of people, including myself, have noticed an odd noise from the new fluid. Not exactly a grinding, but a rubbing type of "wah-wah-wah" noise during low-speed tight corners. It's due to the shear-resistant properties of the MT-90 affecting the operation of the LSD.

If you don't have MT-90, this obviously doesn't apply.
