loud tire noise from front wheels
lots of shop wont do installations of wheel bearing they rather do the whole spin wheel or something like that.
I had the same problem on my 2005 mz3 with 160,000 miles (yea i know that alot of mi.) but I drove it like that until i replace the tires and the problem did not go away. I got a alignment and wheel balance and waste money for the problem not resolve. I heard a cracking sound from the front wheel at low speeds when i was slowing down. I price the wheel hub at the dealer $170.00 ea. and was told that they need my veh. VIN# so that they can find out if the bearing could be replaced. It turned out that I needed the front wheel hub based on the VIN#I called around Junk yards in Miami and found the wheel hub for $60.00ea (wow). I changed the wheel hub (right and left side) myself and the tire noise when away. note: the old parts (wheels hubs) when I spin them there were no play from the bearing, but just a soft grinding noise. The used parts that i bought came from a crash 2004 mz3 with antilock brakes. My veh. did not have anti locks brakes but that was no problem I just disguard the wheel sensor. This tire noise was very diffcult to diagnose, but problem solve for $120.00 and 3 hours of my labor.
