loud noise coming from front wheel

loud tire noise from front wheels

lots of shop wont do installations of wheel bearing they rather do the whole spin wheel or something like that.

I had the same problem on my 2005 mz3 with 160,000 miles (yea i know that alot of mi.) but I drove it like that until i replace the tires and the problem did not go away. I got a alignment and wheel balance and waste money for the problem not resolve. I heard a cracking sound from the front wheel at low speeds when i was slowing down. I price the wheel hub at the dealer $170.00 ea. and was told that they need my veh. VIN# so that they can find out if the bearing could be replaced. It turned out that I needed the front wheel hub based on the VIN#I called around Junk yards in Miami and found the wheel hub for $60.00ea (wow). I changed the wheel hub (right and left side) myself and the tire noise when away. note: the old parts (wheels hubs) when I spin them there were no play from the bearing, but just a soft grinding noise. The used parts that i bought came from a crash 2004 mz3 with antilock brakes. My veh. did not have anti locks brakes but that was no problem I just disguard the wheel sensor. This tire noise was very diffcult to diagnose, but problem solve for $120.00 and 3 hours of my labor.

You know i had the same problem all day yesterday. I found out this morning I forgot the bolt the black plastic part under the wheel back up after putting my bumper back on. Check to see if it's loose or missing some screws.

My sound started around 20 mph and got really bad around 40.

kool. yeah my car rotors was rubbing on the brake drum/ caliper. that where i got my noise coming from.... you could tell easy when you need new wheel bearing just lift you car and see if your wheel move back and forth.......... and if you do replace both!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I replaced mines, but there is a little rattling noise coming from that side. It gets a bit louder as you increase speed. You can't hear it if you have your window open. However, if your window is closed you can hear the rattle noise coming from the tire area.

Anyone know what it might be? Wheel Hub Assy? When we took it off the wheel hub assy looked fine, not broken or anything. Could it be the bearing? Do I change it again?

Last time I had a bearing go out on my front drivers side they said I couldn't just replace the bearing, had to replace the wheel hub. For some reason my hub was a 5 lug instead of the 4 lug that seems to be standard and it cost $225 from the dealership.

Is this correct, or can I actually just do the bearing? My passenger side is acting the exact same way as the drivers, so it's time for another repair, and I'd love to save the money.
