Looks like MS CAI splash guard is doing its Job

Its been rainign a lot here and the roads have been nasty, My CAI is no longer nice and shiny and you can tell where water has dropped on it leaving spots. I am sure as hell glad that this thing comes with a splash guard. As you can see with the crappy picture at the bottom its really dirty. I am not sure where any of the other intakes that are made for the MS3 sit, but this one really benifits from the splash guard.

I havent driven mine in the rain yet and to be honest I am scared to death. Here when it rains its normally a storm with standing water, I just think its too low, I will defiantly be careful when driving in the rain.

Does anyone know where the CPE filter is located?

I dont know if the speed intake does it but the CPE is really neat, right where it hits its lowest point and you would think the filter should be, it hooks up and gives you close to a foot of extra clearance, Im scared shitless of the rain too but It would take you diving into a 2-3 foot lake to drown the car

So....no puddle-jumping with the CAI? I'm from a very rural area and one of my friend's family has a cottage on a lake. The drive in often entails multiple puddles if it's rained.

Puddles are fine, dunking the intake into water and replacing the air it needs with water.. world of hurt. I've had low intakes on a few of my cars and never had a problem.

As you can tell the Mazda intake sits right on toop of the lower splash shield, or whatever that bottem piece is called.
