im looking to get a indash dvdplayer with flip screen. I am currently looking at the kenwood one model KVT-911DVD. Would like to get one that has a touch screen and is 6.5 or 7" display. If anyone knows any other please post

we are finishing up a custom in dash car computer and touch screen setup that will do alot more than that unit at the same or less price. PM me if you are interested.

yeah, get the carputer system. you can do more things with it. like navigation, watch divx movies, play games.~~ :D

not to mention store all of your mp3s, read diagnostic codes from the car, tune an EMS if you have one...

Have you seen this new unit from Kenwood?
Kendwood DDX7015

It can sit flush if you have a double din which I believe the Mazda's have. I might do this over a traditional flip out for my MSP.

clarion makes one. pioneer makes one. alpine makes a screen. I think they may also make a dvd player with screen. not sure which ones are touch screen. my roommate has the 911. it is pretty nice. has a nice picture. no mp3 playback if you want that.

damn that was quick, one reason i would like to keep with kenwood all the speakers are kenwood, And that it dont play mp3's is a big deal to me cus thats basicly all i play now. I would just add a flip dvd screen to the dash but i got 3 guages in my dash with the head unit

the 915 if it ever comes out will play mp3's. just like everythihng they keep putting the day back that it is coming out. I am ont sure if the others play mp3's. I am not in the market to get one so I dont really keep up with them. I just konw about the 911 cause I use it about everyday.

i cant get the kenwood one for $1350 and msrp on it is $2200 that was one of the main things about that, since i can get it so cheap

My roommate really likes his. the face is not motorized. that is kinda nice though. you can move it around however you want to. and you dont have to worry about the motor controls not working since there are not any. some of the options are not easy to get to. like the bass control you have to enter a few menus. but I like it ok. if you have not seen one in person find one on display if possible and check it out. that is going ot help you the most.

there is a kenwood dealer not to far from my house and they sell every thing very cheap they have one on display there and i have messed around with it, but since it dont play mp3's and were the clarion one does im leaning towards clarion now, if kenwood makes a cd changer that supports mp3's now that might be an option since i know the 911 supports cd changers that would work out better i can load up multi cds in the changer

I know kenwood has the music keg. it is a hard drive for mp3's. that thing holds tons of music. you could do that.

ya thats another option, except the keg is like $600. lets see if i got the dvd911 for $1350 + $600 for the keg thats $1950 with out tax, the cheapest i can get the Clarion VRX935VD is $1,099.00 thats from pricegrabber.com so in reality it would be cheaper to buy the clarion, I would love to stay with kenwood to keep everything thing the same in the car, and ive allwasy been a kenwood person. But when it come to the money it aint worth it

maybe someone that has had experience with some of the other dvd players will jump in. I know some of the guys on here dont like kenwood at all. so dont be surprised if they suggest something else

It really isn't the greatest plan to stay with all the same brand..especially with Kenwood. It's kinda that whole hybrid/mutt theory...mutts are usually more even tempered due to less inbreeding. Well, basically you have to set yourself a price range and then look at what's available. Judge the pieces based on the features you're looking for, the price, and the quality of the product. Kenwood's motorization, for instance, isn't the most reliable...it's gotten a little better, but it's still not spectacular.

If you have a little extra money you can look into the Pioneer AVH-6500DVD. I'm sure you could find a decent deal online...just make sure if you order *anything* online you have a warranty to work with.
