Looking to get 200whp

Dang,
the rods really are weak in the stock motor?? And not the rod bolts??

How do the Honda guys get away with bolting on a turbo kit and making over 250 at the wheels on a stock motor???? WTF!

They are pretty much in the same HP range as us I believe. Tuned properly that's close to the limit maybe a little higher.

I was tired of being paranoid and invested in a J&S Safeguard with knock sensor and timing retard for piece of mind.

Not even a bunch of honda suckers out here do that and guess what!!!??? booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom blown motors! they think oh my motor can handle it. nope my buddys shop had 4 hondas that threw on turbo and he told them not too! cause it wont be able to handle it. They didnt listen and same s*** for them too lol!!!

so how much psi were you pushing when you bent the rod

s*** NOT MUCH!! like 5psi cause i just finish replacing the motor and i was like ok i cant push this car till i tune it and i was driving it like a old person and was like dam this s*** bent already! i only had it in for like a good month! they heard the knocking noise when they were tunning it.

this sounds like a silly question but what's DSM AFC what's it used for what does it control? if you don't have a EMS how do you tune with a WB?

what A/F ratio should our cars be at... what's a perfect ratio?

plase try to stay on topic, if you want to make a thread about your engine blowing or painting your FMIC do it somewhere else.

Sure no problem!!! Like wise for your question, please start another thread!

the AFC controls the fuel only. a wideband reads the air fuel ratio. if you dont have ems or something that can control the air/fuel mixture than you cannot tune.

a perfect a/f ratio is 11.9-12.1 for boosted applications and 14.7 for naturally aspirated.

also, what color should i paint my fmic??? jkkkk

what I'm asking is/was already mentioned in this thread... all I'm asking is for defention... not ''HEY GUYZ I'M GOING TO PAINT MY FMIC THE SAMEZ COLOR AS MY CARZ!!!''

again stay on topic is all I'm asking theres no reason to jack his thread in useless commetary such as that. thankyou.

hahah not!Thats ****** up.................lol lol its cool! Hey since we must stay on topic lol. Since im doing these mods to my bottom end. Will it give me more hp or torque??

not unless you are going with a higher compression. but that would be a bad idea with a turbo. with a lower compression like 8.5:1 you will yeild more power with less boost. but besides that you are just making a stronger motor

Ok so pretty much a little hp but i just dont really have to worry about it taking a s*** on me. Messing with the crank shaft. Will that up the hp or anything?? Or just stronger too?

Lower compression will yield less power at 8.5:1 but will lower engine temps to fight detonation and allow more safe upped boost. A 9.1:1 compression at say 10psi will make more power than 8.5:1 at 10psi but when upping the boost detonation will come on sooner on the 9.1:1.

lower compression yeilds less N/A power not boost power

compare it to evo's. they have like 8.1:1 compression i believe

You of all people need a WB AFR. And should probably think about trans temp gauge as well.

what i like about the msp is that it is responsive in and out of boost. with that being said, dont drop your compression too much or it will be a slug out of boost.

LOL I should have you drive my car then. It feels like a slow DX or something heavy until boost hits around 4000rpm then it pulls sooo hard. But then again I have a huge turbo now.

Shane is right, lower compression is more of a safeguard agains detonation than a power adder. 10psi on 9.1 will be more powerful than 10psi on 8.5:1
