Looking to convert headlights

Alright.. Got an '02 Protege DX. I remember someone telling me that the P5 Head lights ( All Clear) will fit in place of the head lights that are on the Protege DX? :wtf:

Can anyone advise if this is true or not?

Also how hard is it exactly to remove headlights?

If this isn't true then whats the best way to convert these over and get rid of that God awful orange lamp that Mazda likes :bs:

If you'll do a search for it, it's been covered several times. The lamp housings bolt right in, but you'll have to do creative wiring. The alternative is to open your housings and remove the orange lens.

I would love to get the p5 lights if any body wants to trade an mp3. All you have to do is rewire them.

What do you mean by creative re-wiring.. How ugly does it get?

i think the p5 uses different bulbs for the highbeams. probally just a few splices, could be done easily with a voltage tester.

Hmmm... So how hard is it to take the Orange Lens off of it.. .. Does it involve prying the glass off?

to get rid of that amber piece you'll have to remove your heads, heat them up by oven, heatgun, hairdryer, etc... and then pry them apart.

when you re-seal them remember to use some sort of sealign compund or you'll get nasty condensation in there.
