03.5 mazdaspeed protege
WooHoo!!!! so as you know i lost my protege es last july to a parked car! it was everything to me! while on my search for a new car i drove by the honda dealership to see when the 2008 accord coupe is comming out (nice!) because i was thinking about paying in advance or something when all the sudden i saw the light comming from God or something! haha. there she was! they werent planning on selling it but they said if they did it would be for 11900. it has
49k miles on it and is in great shape completely stock and no mods at all. im in love! haha! on top of everything else, i traded my 98 acura tl which had 230,000 miles on it(from here to the moon) which i got 2k for plus i was putting 2k down. the funny thing is, after all the paperwork, they never asked for the check! they'll probally notice but if not, what the hell, 2k back in my pocket!! I LOVE TURBO!

i have a wagner turbo kit with a big front mount intercooler. does anyone know if it can go on the stock msp setup?

congrats mike,
since it has only 49k take here to your local mazda stealership and have her check out..
so far on mine i had the rear clunk fixed, front squish fixed, frnt mm, axle back, rear lip sag, exhaust manifold replaced, and the O2 sensor replaced.

that's awesome... I think it's the best color (overall). Mine is definitely the showiest (orange) but for a practical/daily driver... you can't go wrong with titanium.

Try to get some dave b rings if you can... also, if you have any plans on upgrading the sound system I can't recommend the Pioneer AVIC D3 any higher. It's an all-in-one dvd/nav system that, unlike every other on the market, can match the color of our (or any) interior AND is reasonably priced (I paid $720 for a NIB unit) You should also look into getting a turbo timer (or else you'll have to sit in your car for a couple minutes after driving it) and last but not least... perhaps the best overall mod for the buck... an Injen CAI. You'll love the sound of the turbo with that thing.

man that sucks.. I hope you have some money saved up for when it decides to break on you..

Thanks! i love the color too! the stock sound system isnt that great. i cant even hear the sub. i have 2 jl 10w3's im putting in anyway also my other head unit. its JVC AVX-1 dvd player. it has a 3in lcd screen. its small but looks nice. i have piping from another turbo setup i was doing b4 and i think i may use it for this.

Well before you decide to do anything to the engine.. Id replace the rods with something that can actually hold more than the stock power rating which is anything but stock..

People also say to weld your lsd to make it stronger, but mine has held up to ALOT of punishment although my motor didnt..

If I could go back in time, I wouldnt have bought this car..

so they basically didnt strengthin the 2.0l engine before throwing the turbo in. what happened to your motor? too much boost? do you have aftermarket mods?

The same motor is in the p5 minus the obvious.. My motor threw a rod while on stock boost.. All I had was an intake, dp, exhaust.. It was replaced under warranty from the dealership I bought it from.. Its a stock replacement shortblock.. Hopefully Ill either be buying a shortblock to build or a built one pretty soon when I get the money.. But I want a reliable car before I do that.. Thinking something along the lines of another Galant vr4 (which Id prefer over a built motor for this car)..

wow! you would think they would make the internals stronger b4 turboing!! is the ms3 like that? 2.3l with a turbo? they had to have made stronger internals for that considering they are running 16lbs of boost!

nice car. about damn time you got back into the game.ha

im saving up to get the MS3 in the future. i NEED that car.lol

good luck with the mods. we should meet up sometime.

yeah, definately! im stilll in the process of moving to smithville. painting and stuff b4 i move in. car is alot quicker that the one i flipped! maybe later this week we'll meet up so i could see the changes of the interior with all my es stuff!

Welcome back to the club, glad to see your happy with your car. I have an aftermarket turbo set up on my car, as long as you don't boost too high you should be good. It's great for top end, I had way too much torque off the line and NO top end with the stock set up so I had to change that.
