Lightweight rims

FBI, you hit the nail on the head, that is EXACTLY why people want to put on lightweight wheels....the lighter the rotating mass....the faster your engine can accelerate it, thus make your car quicker.

its really the ONLY reason why you would want to put lightweight wheels on your car.

Less rotating mass = better acceleration, for sure. Less unsprung weight helps the car handle better, too, for sure. Rota makes some good wheels. I imagine you could drop an inch or so off the wheels, if you REALLY felt the need to reduce unsprung weight. Just a few suggestions. Also, Konig Heliums, which are lightweight, may come in 17 inch at the right pattern and offset, but I'm not sure.

Konig Heliums unfortunately aren't available in 5x114.3 They only come in a 4x100. Rota sells some light weight wheels, aswell as 5Zigen (FN01R-C) and Sparco (NT-R). Both of those wheels aren't for everyone though.

If size isn't an issue, you might try Kosei. They have some really nice wheels that are light and pretty strong also. 15 & 16" sizes that look good and perform well.
Not just acceleration, but braking also. It's easier to stop with less weight too.
