Did some work in the garage this weekend.

Sooooon...

I picked up a '93 MX-6 alternator from Autozone. I used the Milly one as a core and made sure they bench tested it before I brought it home. I'm waiting for the paint on the alternator tensioner to dry, thus the slack in the belt.

I also put in new NGK plugs and routed the PRD spark plug wires. I need a OBD1 disty and they aren't cheap ($250 new/reman) so I'm going with a coilpack setup from a OBD2 626. I picked one up from Probetalk.com and should be here this week. More wiring involved but worth it. Also mounted my OBX headers and checked they would clear the oil pan. Good to go.

I also bought some Mishimoto reservoirs for the coolant and power steering from CR3 Motorsports. (2thumbs)

Totally worth it, it'll make tuning a lot more fun :)

I just wish the reservoirs weren't chrome. I might have to bite the bullet and get them powder coated black. I hate chrome.

Sooo......how smooth is the wiring going to go, now that this is the second time you'll be doing it? Will you be able to get it all done, right, in one shot? Or will it take you another 3 weeks to barely get it running by half assing the wiring, and have to go back and redo all the connections? :D

Josh, the last wiring setup was basically a '95 OBD2 Milly ECU, MAF, wiring harness and sensors. This time around will be the MegaSquirt (standalone ECU), '94 Probe GT OBD1 wiring harness and sensors. I'm going to combine the P5 wiring with the Probe GT wiring and run just one harness in the bay, along with all my other wiring for the gauges and HID's etc. I'm also putting the battery in the trunk to clean up the bay. I'm setting up a little wiring workshop in the basement so I can't work on it in the cool A/C and not rush through it. It will still probably take me 3 months but it won't be half-assed. There's not rush on this build. It's not supposed to stress me out like the last one did. ;)

Peaches, I still have the notes, but this is an entirely different ball game and this ECU is a plug-n-play system for the OBD1 PGT so it should be a little easier.

Haha, well yeah. I mean, I spend pretty much every other night after work and most of my weekend in the garage so the sooner the better. But you know what I mean, I'm not trying to slap things together and half-ass it. But I miss the P5 already, even though it was slow as balls.

AJ, they were a good price. ;)

I got my coilpack in today from a seller on Probetalk. Holy crap, someone on PT actually shipped the part I paid for within 2 days? That's unheard of over there. It's usually a month to ship parts. lulz. Anywho, I'll clean everything up a bit a re-paint it but for $60 shipped it was a great deal.

so in the paypal "Amount" box i should just type "$a good price.00"? lol.

and now that i think of it, let me know if you need any KL parts. there are about 5 or 6 kls at my local junk yard and you pretty much name your own price over there. its a "ill tell you how much im gonna pay for this part" type place. I am sure i can grab any parts you need and get them to you for much cheaper than from someone on PT.

Thanks, AJ! I'll definitely hit you up for parts when I think of them.
