For the love of god...

A guy running around in pink wheels deserves to be shot in the face with a 12 gauge. PERIOD

Nothing to do with manhood...it's just too "hey everyone...LOOK AT ME!!! PAY ATTENTION TO ME!!!! I"M THUPER COOL!!! WAY COOLER THAN YOU!!!"

I mean, I know we modify these things to our tastes, and I firmly believe everyone does it to stand out to a degree (no matter how much they tell themselves "I don't care what anyone else thinks, I did this for ME" bulls***, you do it to stand out and be set apart from the other stock vehicles on the road) but pink, or ANY neon color for that matter, is horrid IMO.

And driving someone else's car with pink wheels is different than a person actually choosing to paint their wheels pink. I know there's nothing to worry about here though, so this is all for nothing. Evan isn't a pink wheel type of guy...

Haha a little harsh, but I do think that if your car can back it up and you're comfortable with it then whatever. I hate looking at a blue WRX on campus here because it has pink wheels and could poo on my car haha. To each their own but I couldn't do that to my car. I feel like it's a "laugh here" sign.

hey evan! i made 10$ today! and its set aside for you! hahaha. more this weekend. hopefully ill put a chip in it in the least.

Exactly...it's just a big goof. "Hey everyone...look at how much of a joker I am! I'm a pretty funny guy! My WHEELS ARE PINK!! HILARIOUS RIGHT???? YEA I KNOW!!!"

And really, I don't even care how fast a car is, terrible color schemes are still terrible color schemes. lol

evan, i got the short shifter. now to install it.. ..

wait... no. i mean i need to take it to the machinist.. dang.

ahh truth, but the black w/ pink wheels' isn't a bad one, just kinda girly. But isn't Evan reffered to as "Lady Hands"?

I have friends in MD, Damian. One is a cop. haha. Just kidding, man. Hopefully you'll be able to make something work with it. It's been super reliable for me for the 4 years I've owned it.

Well here's my current plan;
When Shae is ready to sell (May or June now, yay!) I'll have the car shipped up here and give her a good once over. She's been honest with me about everything so I'll need a front wheel bearing and then I'm going to swap out the suspension with my BC coilovers and replace all the tired 220k mile bushings with either a full bushing kit (which gives me an excuse to buy a press from Harbor Freight) or just buy replacement control and trailing arms.

I emailed King6Fab.com about some of his rear trailing arms and will probably go with those since they are full poly. I would go with GT Spec but I had to back out of the last GB like a little b**** because they have rubber bushings.

Then just swap all my goodies to the black P5 and enjoy the car as she is with the FS-DE until I get the rest of the parts for the KL swap. No point in rushing to pull the motor out of a running car just so it can sit in the garage waiting for parts. But this build will not be a "quick hodge-podge get it back together so I can make it to work in the morning" kind of build. I've got nothing but time and I want to use quality parts and build it right. Well, to an extent. I mean, I still have a $1k a month budget to work with heh-heh. But I think building this car will be half as fun as finally driving it with the turbo KL.

And about the pink wheels, I don't plan on running them and they will be for sale in pink. I've got Enkei's and Rays to choose from for wheels. haha

Oh, and I want to get as much finalized with the suspension/brakes before the swap so that will be my focus here while parts are being collected for the swap. No point in going fast if you can't stop, right?

The Mazda6, MS3 and MS6 brake upgrade is now a common swap for the Protege so I need to research which will work best for my application. I plan on upgrading rotors/pads so I need to find out what I want to upgrade to. I never had any problems slowing down my P5 with the stock size Brembo blanks, Hawk HPS and SS lines but while I'm upgrading components I might as well look into upgrading them in size too.

And not an hour goes by in my day I don't think about this build. :)

i would leave the stock brakes and work on proportioning them better. Even with azenis or re01r's they have 0 problem locking up the fronts. Putting the extra weight up front is going to compound the problem.

Very good point, Korey. I didn't think about that. I know Bill Brees is running a proportioning valve in his MSP. I'll snoop around in his build and site and see how he has it done.
