Lewis7789 MS6 GT build thread

And thank you too for the offer, #2.

If the seller ships it tomorrow like he said I should have it next week and I have July 4th through the 7th off to wrap. I'm very excite to bugger this all up! :D

In 4 years I plan to transfer everything over to a rust free shell anyway so the vinyl will work great. And the seller told me he can ship it tomorrow and I'll send him the remaining balance next week. What a nice fellow. :)

Marc, thanks, I'll probably take you up on that offer.

You said the same about the Protege and you see how that ended up... ;)

I was just gonna say haha. whats with you and buying rusty cars, building them, and then swapping all of it to a not as rusty car?

Haha, well thankfully there is no motor swap involved with this car. I'm sticking with the MZR for a loooong time. And I bought that motor as insurance so I'll be sticking with this chassis for probably 5-6 more years. Then who knows.

I bought this rusty car because it was a great deal from Jake and I hated the Milly. It's not too rusty, but it another 4 years when it's paid off it will be really rusty so it will be time to swap out to a newer chassis.

My friend is a jerk. I yelled "Nooooo, not my baby!". lulz.

Yo dawg, we heard you like RPF1's... So we put some RPF1's in your trunk while you're on RPF1's.

Well had another great Sunday auto-x'ing the fatty MS6. I ended up 3rd in my class (of 6) behind a heavily modified 5.0 Mustang and a Z4 M Edition. I tried the NT-01's but I really gotta get used to them. It seemed like they were pretty slippery, but got stickier as they warmed up. I think I'll used them until they're shot just buy some sticky street tires and run those before moving to R-comps or another set of NT-01's. The car still did well, still trying to handle the understeer. I need to look into modifying my rear lower control arms and endlink so I can put the rear sway bar on the stiffest setting.

But the whole day was still a hoot. First time I've ever hit rev-limiter in my own car in my entire life. Haha.

Sho took this pic while attempting to cool the topmount between runs. He also took some video with his handheld phone.

You could put bags of ice on the IC inbetween runs to cool it down. I've seen guys do it at the drag strip.

Yeah, Ivan bought a water sprayer when he was auto-xing and I thought about the bags of ice too. I didn't really think it would effect the performance as much as I thought since this was my first warm day auto-x. Next time, bag of ice for sure. I'm going to start taking this much more seriously from now on.

Water sprayer is easier to tote around and lasts longer. :) Plus you can do the tires too.

Evan, you should also make note of your tire pressures and make not of them, both cold and hot....this can also help with the understeer issues as well.

Marlon can probably tell you a good PSI starting point for the NT-01s too.

I know you asked me and I didn't know, I just looked at my notes... 29-31 cold, 33-35 hot. But that's just what I've found to work well on Miata...

I've got the car partially stripped down for the vinyl going on this weekend.

Poll time and opinions; Which rear tail lights do you guys like more.

I like Option 1 a lot, option 2 is my favorite but I can't justify the price tag and option 3 is my least favorite but still better looking that the stockers which I despise.

#2 looks damn good, but if you cant justify the price; id go with #1. #3 looks ricey, but it could be the pic and that particular car
