Lewis7789 MS6 GT build thread

Does this mean Pablo's gonna try to find an MS6 now, sell the Miata (eventually) and mod that?

The world has gone dun flippy-floppy. Peaches wants an MS6 and I want a Miata.

Aside from getting used to the noise and shaking from the mounts, so far it doesn't need anything. It might feel different driving it harder, but I really like how it drives. From your dyno run it could use some fine tuning, but the butt dyno approves.

I know you didn't really get to push her and she's on winter tires right now but in your opinion, does anything need tweaking or modded?

Fix the hesitation that happens at Mid-Ohio damnit! :)

I'll take her out for a session at Mid Ohio and see what Will is talking about

I need to ask the MS3 power guys what they think. Sho said something about spark plugs, but I put new one-step colder plugs (NGK-6510 gapped to .026) in when I swapped the motor and was having the same issue. So I swapped them out about a month ago with the same plugs and still having the issue. Not sure if it's a tuning issue or a mechanical issue.

At the top of the higher gears like 4th and 5th it will hesitate for a quick blip. Maybe fuel cut due to the higher boost? I'm not really watching my Dashhawk on track and I should have logged a couple laps.

Anyone have any ideas?

What is the gap for the plugs? That was the problem with the MSM, didn't feel the dip but you could see it in the dyno graph. That, or a coil pack can't keep up.

They are gapped at .026 and these are new/used coilpacks with about 60k miles on them.

I don't have any logs of it. I very rarely log. I'll try one of these days on that rest stop on 77.

alright. I doubt its your plugs as you've changed those. I would think it would be tune related but I'm not familiar or good with tuning so I will pass it on haha

just a blip? so if you stay on it and the RPMs keep climbing it goes away?

how much boost are you running? do you still have the stock boost controller?

Yeah, just a blip. I'll stay in the throttle and it will go away.

Again, I don't really go wot very often so I don't really watch my Dashhawk or log. But I think I max boost around 20psi. I know 23psi+ is when the OE map sensor has issues.

I don't know what the stock boost controller is. I know I don't have a manual boost controller like Phen did on the MSM. I thought boost was controlled by the ECU?

I don't really know these motors very well at all and I don't really care about horsepower. I just want a reliable, solid running motor and tune.

Well there is an upgraded EBCS that has 3 sources to read boost rather than the stock 2. So it can read boost more accurately which in turn your tuner can tune you easier and more precisely. But the MAP sensor is what controls boost. the stock one is a 2.5 bar sensor and can accurately read to 22.5 psi (if it is good)
