I made an oil catch can last week using Home Depot parts that cost all of $20.
And I took a pic this morning at work.

Ya know I have a catch can from my car just sitting in my garage collecting dust now you could have had.
Look at Mr. Photography here! Car looks awesome!
Would you care to share the secrets in making a catch can for $20? I need one ASAP-damn smoking turbo...
Yeah, you better quiet that thing down... the cops were over last night, but your bedroom door was shut and the TV was loud so you were either a) too busy to hear me or b) I didn't yell loud enough.
Anyway, someone called the cops on someone shooting fireworks and they thought it was us. Cop said that he's gotten a few complaints about the silver car in the road with the loud exhaust. I know for sure it isn't mine... hahaha.
Oh snap. Fer reelz? Damn. I may put another muffler in the exhaust too. (five-0)
I don't think they're aggressive enough for youMan, I want your wheels. You tired of them yet? (lol2)

With a 215/45R17 tire that is the lowest offset you can go with a 7" wide wheel without starting some extreme stuff with camber, fender rolling, etc.
^I think you'll be fine with just the cat. That should quiet it down considerably. And it should get rid of a lot of the raspiness.
As for the rear mount, did you just have trouble with the 2 nuts closest to the firewall? I didn't even use an impact when I did mine. Just a breaker bar and a few universal joints. I shattered 2 universal joints into pieces during that install, lol.
O and on the topic of catch cans, I just saw Iukeuni post this:

I certainly hope the cat will quiet it down some. I like down shifting and letting the clutch out slowly to get the gurgles and pops, but it's just too bloody loud under even half throttle.
I got 2 of the motor mount bolts loose, just one nearest the firewall wouldn't budge. Mostly because I couldn't get my impact straight on it without running the risk of stripping it. I didn't know Phen had a 1/2" universal joint in his tool box right next to mine. Haha! I'm going to pull the intake mani friday night and soak the bolts friday night and saturday morning. Hopefully that will help. But worse case scenario, I'll put the CorkSport insert in.
That catch can looks like poop. Haha! That cat get mad respect from me for his V6 swap but I'd rather spend a few bucks and get a prettier catch can. Here's how mine is set up, however I replaces the tubing in the pic with 3/8" heavy duty clear tubing because the original stuff was collapsing under pressure.

And no, you can't have my wheels, Steve. I've wanted these wheels since I starting modding my CRX 11 years ago. The Enkei RPF1's and Racing Hart CPO-35's were my favorite. I got a great deal from Jon and sold my acoustic upright bass to buy them. So I'll keep them a long time. And don't worry, Jon, I keep 'em clean!
Hmm, 225/45-17 in the front, eh? I'll have to try that next spring when I buy new tires. I rubbed a little with a passenger in the front and any weight in the rear before I rolled my fenders correctly this spring. But I'm not running much negative camber. Probably pretty close to stock specs for my camber and alignment. But now it doesn't rub with 3 people in the car. But I rarely use my back seat too.
